Today Im try update maps to 195 but looks like something is wrong... It update from 0% to 100% in around 15-25 minutes but then stuck at 100% for more than 20 minutes and then I need to leave car... I use same card as allways(SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO 95MB/s) Will see what will happen when I will came back after work(I know that normal update continue from where it has been stopped)...
Fingers crossed. I always update mine via the developers SWDL menu so I've never seen that screen. The SWDL you see what is going on although it must have continues power to the unit else you are back at square one. The normal method as you say pickup from where it got to except it unwinds back a bit. Yours may have unwound a fair bit. Normally it completes in about 50 mins. It could be that with the unwinding bit after stopping the car it will get there...

I recall that mib tool which you now have unlocks the developers menu normally this is done via Odbeleven / VCDS etc. You keep pressing the hold button till two screens open up. First is the normal one with the FeC details keep holding then a second one opens with the SWDL menu on it if that's been enabled. You can use that one but you must open the door every 15 minutes else if it loose power in the next 5 minutes, you have to repeat the whole process. Advantage is you get to see the progress and you get use to reading what it's doing.

Mib2 high units fully validate the contents of the card via the SLA1 signature so will not import into the car a corrupt card so it is unlikely to be that. You do still have those interesting FeC issues as you reported on the software thread. Might be back over on that thread you need to go where the experts are on the unit. It is troubling that they somehow got into the unit via your dealer / workshop then replicate into additional once mib tool did it's work. One for @jpmedia over on the software thread or any of the others, on the other hand it could be your unit needs a little longer to run on the update and may well run happily. I've never come across invalid FeCs, they on the other thread will have done. It's something very odd that has happened.

There has been strange issue with update when it stuck at 100% and next time I start car and check version it show me that I have 2022 maps installed but after scrolling over country versions unit reboot itself. Then when I again scroll over versions it automaticly start upgrading maps which I need to interrupt with turning off car and go to work... After work I had 2h trip and Im first try if navigation work and it normally navigate. Then Im update maps again to be sure that they are really updated in one piece and it need around 40-50 minutes to go to 100% and then after 1 minute show update sucess dialog...
After that I think that maps are updated...
Most of time I use Android Auto(Wireless) for navigation because it have good traffic informations but somtime my phone battery is not charged enought(Phone power usage is more than wireless charger can provide) to run it and inbuild navigation is very usefull :)
Thanks for all help and time to solve upgrading maps issue...

Hi,

I tried to update my maps, I have lost the original backup and exhausted all options of trying to restore my original overall.nds. The system is 6PO MIB2.

What are my options now, buy a new card from the dealer?

Thanks

It comes up a lot when people don't read the material.

Answer is in the resource section:

Recently posted one in the last few weeks above if you read up, that proved a bit more tricky. You go back to the year 1 of Seat Mib2 standard and take the specific overall.nds file from there and use that.

Lost, Stolen and Missing Cards from a Mib2 Standard Unit

Godzzi and myself covered on the thread the process of getting back a card that was lost or stolen out of the unit. Buy a card and put back the overall.nds file from the year or one before. For good measure you can go back to V1 Seat map release rather than playing lucky dip with the download releases if you don't know which release was paired with the car, link below and use the most recent map update over writing the overall.nds file with the V1 one.

V1 link (Credit Markobc with that one):

http://infotainment-cdn.skoda-auto.com/base/maps/0430_MP143-1248.0EUR.zip

or Skoda's download manager version (more resilient to network timing out issues)

http://infotainment-cdn.skoda-auto....der.exe?ver=636797902467464786&extension=.exe

Godzzi tested for me that going back beyond the paired overall.nds file worked. So if in doubt jump back releases if you don't know what the release was. Then do the workaround using the overall.nds file. (I did test that with a unit with the overall.nds of 1030 and works fine with 0430)

Variation of the workaround but going back to the Seat base year for mib2 if no more information on what was in the car. Full credit goes to Exciter for the workaround. Basically now identified that these overall.nds files contains effectively a release date stamp as well as a general database index. For other VAG cars you might want to go back to 0235 (2014/15) which is the very first release ahead of it coming to Seat.

The card needs to be a Standard Mib2 card, can be Seat, Skoda or VW. Might wish to consider the recent 32GB card planning ahead.
<<

Try that first.

There was a recent one where one had to go back to 1030 and use that. If the v1 Seat one fails try 1030. It has to be the one that matches what the unit was on or any before. There was a published wobble in how Seat produced one year which might be why 1030 fixed that.

The 1030 and after solution is here:

Read around Greg's issue. I sorted that one out the previous way of searching for the matching release when the v1 Seat didn't work - worked on all others. As said, might have been the Vag production wobble that they had on producing the files in one recent year why the universal fix didn't work on Greg's issue but fixed by 1030 since that was early than his. That fix worked since Greg was on one after 1030.

The plastic box that the map card came in / front of the card reveals the serial number of the release (6P...). Googling that you get to the release code. Then the next step is to find the map hanging about on servers. Early Seat server ones were never published why we use Skoda and VW. VW changed theirs so better luck on Skoda ones for a few years back. At some point these historic files will get deleted off servers so we will be passing on just the single important elements at that stage.

Thanks, I did try this but the links in original post weren’t working for me. I have managed to get it working again with 2022 maps.

is there much impact to the software flag that is set?

Zero impact.

It's now anarchy with the VCDS error codes dealers just ignore them now with with the new MQB platforms :ROFLMAO: (they ignored them before in anycase they have enough to do... only look at them if it will help with diagnosis). Everybody who does the workaround gets them, they aren't the SVM error. The other way of doing it is for retrofitters to make a sale on some code they picked up off the net to add the MIB2 standard life long FeC. One guy on the Arona board that coughed up but it's not required with the workaround. Anarchy prevails.

There was a standard version of Mib Tool... (a few about) that sorted it out but when I looked at it, it wasn't for the 5xx series firmware release, the 4xx so didn't take it any further. It was demonstrated by Mr Fixit. You can find the video.

PS both links I gave are working today.

Hello, anyone know if I would be able to update maps on this one if I swapped this control unit instead of mine? Thank you

Two things going on here, it's a mib2 standard so yes if you managed to get it installed you would be able to until about 2025 when it's thought VAG will stop putting out navigation updates. The main issue is those unit picked up off a scrap yard or whatever need to have their consumer protection taken off, navigation re licensed and you'll need the leads if it's a mib1 in at the minute plus any control panel to replace what you have. This is where decent retrofitters make it easy by prepping the unit. The other is a DIY project with pit falls there are plenty of threads on the net on that.

So I was wondering if adding performance monitor option was possible to my car, after reading this thread and in other forums I found that it's possible thru a software update that has bean patched to allow the new Fec to be Verified. If I understand, there is a way installing it with MIB tool that runs only on MHI2 but my software is : MST2_EU_SE_ZR_P0468T .
My unit shows to be able to install the performance monitor but is there a way without updating my software with a patched one?

There is the Mib Tool which is for the mib2 high unit you have the standard unit. The one talked about mostly here is that one for the high unit.... however the expert on the subject starts off on here:

The mib tool is the mib2 high one used for FeC adjustments that's associated with the "Mib Collective" as I call them Mib Wiki is their toast master or whatever. That's written by Chillout or a co-author other input.

Then you have the other one also by Chillout again for the Mib2 High to do custom screens. That's the mib2 Toolbox. On the link.

Then later on the link Chillout covers the MIB Standard toolbox which does the custom screens for the standard unit. Different author and project.

I have seen YouTube video by Mr FixIt on the later one. If you look in YouTube under "MIB Standard toolbox Mr fix"... lucky dip on the standard one. That hasn't really been talked about here. So that tool suppose to clear the overall.nds workaround errors if you have a need for that. Does away with buying map cards. Also allows you to do standard unit FeC edits. Least that's what YouTube reckons I'm interested in 😂.

Dear all, as fresh board member I need some last final advise to update my firmware. I have take the different steps with MIB tool in order to install the new 195 map on my 6PO nav in the Seat Ateca 2018. The system recognizes the new map but after a few minutes it says it is not a valid map. Apparently the FEC code is still invalid and I'm still using the old software. See attached screen shots.

1) how can installed the latest software?
2) how can I upcate the FEC codes?

I already followed the steps with the MIB tool which worked without updating the software FM2-H-N-EU-SE-MQB, FM2-H-ND-EU-SE-MQB

Reckon that one for @jpmedia

Did it work ?. Perhaps better look at that for future reference.

Mib Tool should be plug and play on the firmware release its supported for, so if it didn't work it needs the experts in it. It substitutes one piece of code for another and then should just work once the instructions are followed. If however a retrofitter has had their fingers on it so not stock firmware in that module, it may not. That's where it needs having a look at. Where @jpmedia comes in to study the backup you made. That will show the sins of a retrofitter and how it can be fixed. That's how the last one was fixed on the thread which had a FeC mess in it.
