Adapt and overcome as it say in the old Chinese proverb lolCut a slot in it with a hack saw and use a flat blade screwdriver?
Bloody VW... The head on the screw for my air box is rounding off but they're not cheap to replace - unless you want to spend £30 on loads of them.
Part number is WHT002087 and it's 5x34mm coarse thread from what I can gather, but I can't find anything similar from anywhere else.
Does anyone have any ideas? At this point, even drywall screws will do...

Taking mine to cornwall next weekend, so looking forward to doing the same.Out and about in mine today on the A roads. Was nice to have it gulping air in again instead of the usual plod to and from work.
Does any one do body repair for a living. Trying to find some one to paint the . I will pay and give tea and biscuits too.... I have sprayed the rear door and got a few runs. Nothing I can't flat and polish . But rather I didn't have to.... any one able to help
I had a mk1 st170 sold that for this car, best thing I ever did but what shocked me when I got the st170 wss the insurance was insane, lost a full yes no claims due to my insurance company at the time not willing to cover it for 2 months, still a good car thoughWell she did it boys. Yesterday my lil Cupra passed her MOT. Legitimately as well. Although how she managed it last year(under previous ownership) will remain a matter of speculation. What with having 4 blown shockers and being stuck in limp mode. But she's sweet now.
Since I was last here, because 6 12 hours shifts don't leave much time for socialising and I've got a car to fix, so I've been mostly working on that. Now it has Stance coilovers for the Cupra r so I had somewhere to attach the anti roll bar links after fitting AUDI TT cast control arms, along with new tyres, disks and pads, and a Whiteline rear anti roll bar which transformed the handling. I now have time for other things. Most likely sorting out the MK1 Focus ST170 I've been using as a shed to store my tools and parts of toff the Cupra.

I also fitted a cover to the steering wheel. The fist time I've used a needle and thread in over thirty years.

Hi.I was going to turbo my ST170 but realised all I had to do was buy another Cupra lol. Once I get the de cat and a tune on the Cupra I'll go back and finish what I started on the ST170. When I swapped the insurance from the ST170 to the Cupra it cost me more to insure. Most be a regional thing. Might explain why I don't see any MK1 Cup;ra's around Manchester anymore, they've all already been crashed or stolen and pushed up the premiums.
