Just had an update from my lease company to say my car is “banked” meaning it’s production is paused as they wait for parts, ie the semi conductor, but at least it’s a bit of an update

Finally arrived and loving it. Ordered at the end of May. My dealer said they were getting a lot more cars through. Hopefully things will start to move 👍

I chased Leasing Options today. Reply from the dealer was that my car is still in build. Placed Order around May. Really gutted.

I know someone who's ordered a Porsche Cayenne from Porsche and has been told its likely to be next year when she gets it.

If it helps, this is what happened in my case:
- I ordered on 2nd of June via Leasing Options, as a custom order, not part of any pre-ordered batch
- was originally told October delivery
- confirmed build week of 36
- in week 38 I found out that it did not happen
- in week 42 was told car is expected at the dealer in December
- in week 43 (this week) I was told its actually at the UK port
- hours later I got a call that its at the dealer and its time to sign papers
- looking for delivery in November
An overall bit confusing process, but pretty much on time.

I have to say that Leasing Options and Cupra UK did their best to keep me informed, and were very pleasant. It's just a shame that Cupra UK no longer provides updates via chat. It just shows how chaotic ordering a new car is these days.

WoW!

Fingers crossed for you it's delivered on time. My account manager was pretty useless at Leasing Options. Soon as the sale was complete he had no interest at all, didn't return phone calls or email back.
Customer service Team Leader and her team have been brilliant though.

Yep discussed this on many chats seems not right they simply build lower specs due to less semiconductors, but I'm guessing this comes down to more low end specs mean more money to them yet that's a long time to wait Mrbiggles 😣

You'll be pleased to know I finally got a confirmed build week today! Week 47 (22nd November) :)

Very similar to my experience. Also expecting the car in November when originally had a delivery date in October but got pulled because of the chip shortage. Hopefully it doesn’t get put back again.
