Anyone else get the Beta with SFD unlock?I've got it but no idea what to try.

Their T&C's for the beta though say to only discuss on their forums, so might have to do it there

Sounds interesting. You would need to try it out carefully in the locked down areas. Central electrics, infotainment and gateway will be locked down by SFD or elements off. You want some quality mods to try it with that don't cause damage. I never touch engine management but I do see posts on Seat Cupra looking for it. I'd keep clear of those.... something more gentle to test it on. The Leon 4 mods should in principle map across to the Formentor so if you find ones that operate on the SFD protected areas and are gentle you could have a go. You might find some on the Obdeleven board. I haven't got the car myself.

Put that thru a translator... that's where I located Formentor mods plus the Leon 4 ones I passed to Agnes on the Seat Cupra Leon 4 thread here and the Obdeleven board on the Leon 4. They might now (German guy) who's running that PDF list have the SFD ones now... you can also tickle the boards sponsor as well . Those are paid mods. You never know.

I've got the SFD app now but not brave enough to fiddle yet. Waiting to see on the OBD forum if anyone comes up with things to do.

i was invited also.struggling to get a link to get the android version they sent me one for ios and my older white dongle does not support ios ...shame hope they send me the correct version soon,the first thing it will do is kill the bloody stop start rubbish.
why dont you try the stop start disable for a test.a lot of people hate it so would be great if it works.

You should see the image below in the play store. If you click the what's new section it shows 0.48 as the beta. Should show that same version in the app too

when you filled in the form they sent you did you have an issue that kept asking for apple id even though you checked the android only option ?
ive sent a few emails trying to sort it but not heard back so i guess i will have to wait until its released, the test period is very short as well did you notice.

Yeah I just filled out both the sections. First page was Android only so did that, and second page was Android and iOS which was also mandatory, so just used the same info

I've tried messing around but it takes so long to long the stuff in and then the app crashes half the time

Jury is a bit out on whether SS can be stopped. AC method has been suggested. The trusty Australia supremo on VCDS (Don / DV52 onboards) thinks it doesn't based on what he'd read on Golf 8s but that's pre SFD developments. Good one to try thou.

I did try to permanently open the exhaust flaps yesterday but the app kept crashing and took ages to load stuff in

He seems across boards... was was alive and kicking on Golf 8 v Golf 7, VCDS on Ross Tech and having a moan on Obdeleven boards about SFD being implemented for commercial gain re the Pro charging structure for new registrations. Assume us oldies with the Pro get the benefit of SFD if we ever got a 2020- Vag car without coughing up for an annual license.... although personally not sold on the benefits of the MQB Evo platform . It's nice when things work as they should.

makes a change lol i got mine early 2016 ,used on 7 cars so far ,paid £40 for lifetime pro licence.you could say it was a good buy..

Yup same. Got mine in April 2016. Used it on my GTD, R, as well as the Wife's Ibiza and Arona.

Just need some good codes for the Formentor VZ2 now

Well you will be validating that it won't be costing us oldie Pro users anything under SFD.

I see the German updated PDF referenced above does have some specific Formentor SFD mods on now.

You have to have your bonnet up with all 2020- coding whether it's an SFD module or not. Think that is a security step in case people leave these dongles plugged in so you can't avail yourself of breaking into the car with VCDS coding when locked with the bonnet down. German precision and all that .

That'd make sense! So open bonnet, plug in, start car.

I want to see if I can make the exhaust flaps stay open like I did on my Golf R. Only issue is, I'm not entirely sure if the bytes and bits map over the same. Used to be Engine, Byte 9, Bit 2

Get it wrong and it could be a world of pain.
