Can be done? Do you have a link fam?I think you will need to do some arch rolling/pulling to be able to fit them in nicely there's an old forum post for the MK4 golfs that show sizes and the fitment they get with them
I'm only afraid if the fenders would be the problemYouve not said what your existing wheel / tyre set up is. Assuming your existing set up is 7.5J x 18 ET38 on 225/40 R18 tyres, the difference between old and new (using the calculator on www.will they fit.com) will be as per the summary below.
I think you may well have issues with the face of the wheels extending out beyond the wheel arches; that would be illegal in the UK. Also, with ‘skinny’ 215 width tyres on a 9.5J wheel, those tyres will be stretched quite a lot. The minimum safe width of tyre recommended by many tyre organisations is 245 on a 9.5J wheel.

I am aware of that.. I’m only afraid bout the fenders and overall fitmentDon’t overlook the fact that 9.5J x 19” wheels with stretched 35 profile tyres will be very susceptible to damage from kerbstones, potholes and raised drain covers, as the tyres will provide little or no protection to the edge of the wheels.
Did you also used it on the rear fenders? You buy an arch roller on ebay for about 35 quid. Very easy to use... I am running 18 x 9.75 with 265 tyres
Yeah that was the main reason I bought it. Rolled the lip upwards flat to the external edge
If I get to the workshop tonight I will send some pics
