Just thought of your post when I saw it on Facebook. Blue is blue isn’t it??? :) maybe polishing would be less hassle. :)

Mines the discontinued metallic one. Even getting mixed paint is a pain in the ass. Cheers though

Yeah I’ve nearly bought many items that are the wrong colour. Haha one of them things I suppose

Think it's time for a total repaint. Knew someone years ago, gave them a call to see if they were coming by, "give us half an hour - just painted the car".

When he got there the paint was still wet and you could see literal brush strokes!

If you ever see a matt black Vauxhall Nova with red paint showing through from underneath, let me know.

Handbrake is like a signal box and the car feels like it's still on. Seized caliper possibly going by the cable, but they're only 2 years old. Got a mobile guy coming on Monday

The rear calipers are horrible and that handbrake mechanism can definitely seize if it's not looked after.

Do you have the release springs? They put tension on the arm so when you take the handbrake off, it's less likely to seize. If the car is left standing for a long time though, it can still happen.

The penny drops. At its last MOT the guy said "oh by the way, you've got a clip missing on the brake". No idea what he meant!

Are these the right ones?

The missing clip he's referring to is more than likely the one that secures the handbrake lever cable onto the caliper.

Sod Darkside prices, that'll be plus vat & shipping as well.
Ive bought a few pairs of those return springs over the years and you can get them for about half that price.

Turns out the correct part number is 1K0615295

The others are for Transporters it turns out, but they're the exact same clip but twice the price!?

There's something to be said for not having carpets/sound deadening, something I found out after a water bottle decided it fancied a change of career and leaked in the passenger footwell on a road trip.

It was fun bailing it out in a motorway services
