Hi everyone.

I checked the GOLF R VARIANT rear silencers in the OEM website a few weeks ago and they cost around 200€ each.

I have checked the website today and they cost more than double. They’ve updated the prices for those 2 parts.

Does anybody know where to buy the GOLF R VARIANT rear silencer? Around 200€ each.

I think VAG has updated the prices. But doesn’t make any sense to increase the price of a car part that was half the price a few weeks ago.

please help!

The price is for everyone. I wanted to order both rear silencers to Spain.

I checked another "VAG GENUINE PART" Websites... but I'm receiving the same answer: "The prices have been updated".

It anoying because the price was pretty good! NOW, for both of the silencers you'll spend almost 1000€.

If anyone knows a place where to buy I would appreciate.

Also David, if you're interested maybe we can order together in order to get a discount.

At that price may aswell see if you can get the black tipped cupra r st exhaust.

Depends on the year of your car - mine is a pre-OPF and the Golf R Mk7.5 exhaust has a middle resonator.
I hear that for the OPF cars the middle resonator has been deleted, so you might need to do that if your car is OPF.

This is what I did for my 2017 4drive:
- buy a used Golf mk7.5 variant/estate exhaust
- lift car and unbolt Cupra stock exhaust (just a couple of screws and the joints - might be easier to do on a lift with two persons)
- Remove stock diffuser from bumper ( this is THE ONLY THING THAT WON'T FIT)
- insert the Golf R exhaust into the front section of the Cupra exhaust and into mounts and screw the whole thing in again

All mounting points align and everything fits without modifications. Measures are all the same.

Then...

Option A:
- Cut stuck diffuser to fit the Golf R exhaust and refit it (I did that temporarily)

Option B:
- Buy the Maxton diffuser that is linked by me earlier on this thread

The Maxton is not the greatest quality, but it is specifically made for this exhaust, so it is the only thing that will look good - a Cupra R diffuser would look good also, but good luck with the price :)

The sound is on a different league - miles away from the stock exhaust and not too loud or ricer.
The right balance between sound and usability. No droning sound or anything.
From inside the car, minimal difference but from the outside it sounds much more sporty.

...forgot to add:
A Golf Mk7 estate exhaust will also fit, but that one has fake tips and actually only one exit per side that splits into two via the tips.

The Mk7.5 exhaust has real 4 exits and actually sounds better than the Mk7, so that is the one to go for.
They are a bit like unicorns to find used, so I know I was lucky and got mine at a good price.

Does anybody know if the mk7.5 R exhaust fits the Rieger rear diffuser as the cutouts are significantly bigger than the stock part.
Must add the quality is far better than the Maxton items as well.

I know for a fact it doesn't - I had the Rieger diffuser before I installed the Golf R exhaust and it is simply impossible to cut it.

It has 4 fins under and if you cut out the slots for the R exhaust you endup with 2, which looks stupid.

Thanks!! Mine is OPF and as you say, has not a middle resonator. So then the exhaust from Golf R 7,5 has resonator?? Its strange then...

From Golf 7R in ST version they have a resonator in the middle because they dont have OPF.
From Golf 7.5R in ST version they didn't have resonator in the middle because they have OPF
