Just got back from dealers after getting update....no issues before so was reluctant to get it udated. Should have listened to myself. On way home, no travel assist, no sat nav (just loading)., stop start not activating (will keep that!) and the one I have not seen on here no driver profile, cupra button does nothing and no option on screen. Dealer called and told not happy, unfortunately technician not available till Monday. It is doing an over air update may fix sat nav perhaps

Think you may have just convinced me to leave my software on 1790 for time being. Sorry for your experience but thanks for update.

Do they not test these things after an install? That is bloody ridiculous

I should have checked over but needed to get somewhere, however the travel assist shows up on dash as soon as turned on so they should have checked all systems as you say

One or two people have reported issues with losing the Driver Profiles. Do it is known about.

I just wonder how replacing Formentor with a Renault Twizzy and Captur will help. Sure Twizzy is strange and electric but I doubt it is exciting, perhaps only scary as I wouldn't want to drive in one surrounded with SUVs.

MX-5 or Abarth (event the small one) as you have on the other hand, that makes sense. Or maybe Giulia Veloce.
I'm selling my MX5 to come to Formentor, life catches up and now I need a bigger car. I am by no means expecting to get a similar driving experience to the Mazda (for obvious reasons) but I'm hoping it's still exciting enough.. As others have said there's really not an awful lot out there that provides engaging driving with a big boot for at or under the 40k mark. At least it'll be quieter than a soft top..!

Hi, I had exactly the same when I updated my software, it had to be done again and a car hard reset..I'm assuming that's a battery disconnect, anyway that sorted out those issues but for them to be replaced with other faults..sorry

Maybe think about estate with a bit of power? Or something that's not latest model and doesn't have all souless smart assitants making driving boring.

Over the air updates are just for infotainment and such or? Are really safety critic features updated remotely?

Has only happened to me once so far! driver profile changed by it's self and I when I was in a 40 MPH zone The roundel on the dash the had 80 limit on it  so I take it that was showing Kilometres! but it went back to the correct setting, MPH by it's self.
The dealer is going to check my car out next Monday, so if there are any update's I might get it done?
Cheers Bill

Soulless??? Boring??? Honestly......310bhp 4wd acc, practical. I know everyone is a lewis Hamilton/sabine schmitz on here but its a absolute laugh to drive. Non car people are always shocked by performance, always get comments on looks, I love it. So much negativity on here, if you expected a lambo urus experience then you should have footed up the £170k for one. I know I'll get slaughtered on here now because going against the ones that shout the loudest is not allowed, but as a 2 month owner of a 310 vz2 I can honestly say great car. I'll get ready for the whats you car experience questions and I've owned a veyron/la ferrari so I know what I'm on about statements. If your thinking of getting one go for it!!! Great car.

Wasn’t a great effort at sarcasm then as I thought you were just being an arrogant **** lol. (Sorry)
Anyway, opinions are like arseholes, everyone’s got one. Cars divide opinion, if we all liked the same thing then life would be pretty boring.
Fwiw, I stand by my “soulless and boring” comment. There’s very little in the way of driver involvement or communication via steering/pedals. The lag between accelerator being depressed and grunt coming is atrocious plus it sounds crap. The interior tech is a bit marmite, the safety stuff is a bit intrusive at times.
Things it does well are....it’s very easy to to drive and park. It’s very comfortable and pretty quiet and the interior is a big step up in quality from the previous generation. The boot is a decent size and it looks fantastic. Goes round corners pretty well and appears to have a decent level of grip. Brembo brakes are good (haven’t given them a full on emergency stop from 70mph, cough, yet). My Nan could jump in it and drive it around just fine, like she’d do with her Honda Jazz.

What it needs is a very good remap and a decent exhaust. I’d suggest that might totally transform things. Can the gearbox be mapped as well?
The steering would still be dull and lifeless but there’s probably not a great deal to be done about that and pretty much every car I’ve owned over the last 15 years has been the same apart from a couple of BMW’s.
Is the car worth £45k? No.
Would I buy another one? No.
What would I buy instead? Nothing from VW group that’s for sure.
It’s not a bad car, it’s a nice car, it’s just had most of the fun sucked out of it.
Going out on a limb here and saying it’s a sheep in wolfs clothing

I wish I’d taken a longer test drive.

I was suggesting people would comment I've had this car and that car so I know what I'm talking about, I've never had a supercar haha. I just see loads of comments on here on the negative side, and I feel its fair to challenge and disagree with them.

It would be good if the exhaust was louder I agree. It seems the VAG have gone heavy with combating this though with the new regulations that have come in and adding particulate filters and soft limiters. Even the Audi R8 V10 sounds a load of crap from the exhaust note and has a soft limiter when revving stationary to 3 1/2-4k revs.

They’re playing the game of getting everyone used to driving silent machines so it’s not such a shock when we’re all forced to drive glorified milk floats lol.
Don’t think I’ll map mine unless ABT release a dealer approved map that isn’t stupidly expensive. An Akropovic exhaust would be nice though, even a fruity back box would be acceptable

I honestly don't get the soulless and boring comment lol.

You bought a VAG SUV crossover, you can't have been expecting a drivers car surely? It's literally designed so your Nan could drive it as you said, which is great considering the driving skill level of most road users :D

And out of all VAG group cars at the moment, the Formentor has the most technology/driver aids out of all of them as standard, so not sure what you were hoping for?

Did you not watch any car review videos first? :D - you want soulless, point and shoot, easy to manage you go VAG, 4 wheel drive, 310hp.

Sounds like you probably should of bought an M2 comp?

I kinda knew what I was getting into but I thought it might stir my soul a little more than It actually does.
It’s not a bad car (electrics gremlins aside), it’s just not a great car.
It’s kinda OK.
It might grow on me as the engine loosens up and the niggles are sorted.
If you love your car as much as I want to love mine then happy days to you, I hope it brings you many years of motoring pleasure.
Fwiw, the most fun car I’ve ever owned was a LR Discovery 3. Woefully unreliable but when it worked (off road) as it should have it was an absolute blast. I truly shed a little tear when that had to go. Never kept a car for as long either, loved it.
