Thanks👍
Ok, i built the pcv pipework together as i remember taking it out in 1 piece. But soon realised id have to refit it in 2 or 3 sections.
Nothing fitted well and i found myself having to trim the hose with the built in T piece. I trimmed it where the right angle section from the block goes in and where the little valve goes in. Fitted what i could and found some parts pressing up against the underside of the manifold. So trimmed some more. Finally got it all together to find the pipe that heads up to next to the rocker cover, A) resting on a coolant pipe B) at a crap angle at the top.
Pulled it all out and plugged the catch tank back in.
Im going to order the oe items when ive finnished typing this post.
Items i need are marked in red below. Then everything should fit as SEAT intended.

Went to the workshop last night to drop off some bit and just stood and looked at the car....... had this gut feeling that I am going to far with this. For example look at the floor..

All this to move the seat over away from the cage. Now have to move the steering coloum and peddle box too. May have to do more cut out to suit the peddle placement... its just never ending

Must admit, for decades I never had an impact driver, thought about it but then most bolts turn with a breaker bar and lots of swearing.... and maybe a little strength.

Then I bought a Dewalt cordless (up to something like 900ish Nm) and I’m kicking myself for not having done it sooner. Think of it as an investment
I've been thinking about it for months now but can only really think of three jobs where it might come in handy - changing the shocks, replacing the clutch (not the torque-sensitive stuff) and stripping things down for the nearside front wheel bearing. Other than that, it just feels like a noisy way of taking the wheels off, but am wondering how it'll help with those times the hammering force could save snapped bolts...

Was it a time thing for you, or did it have other benefits? It's hard to justify to myself right now as all the other power tools I've got I can use for other stuff - drill gets used all the time around the house, random orbital sander I can use for furniture restoration and for buffing the car too, but impact wrench seems to be a bit car-specific.

I use my impact driver (I have 2 coz I'm fat n greedy) for all manner of things around the house - driving big screws into timber , screws into rawl plugs etc

I've gone double-din! I'll have to wait til pay day to get the head unit, but the console is in! This is a single din that has been really well converted, plus it has USB ports at the bottom which you don't get with the official Seat unit.

Makes a very good paperweight.

As I was going to be doing a lot of vehicle work (and having encountered more than one bolt that resisted me hanging off an extended breaker bar) it made sense to have it. Saved time, injuries, and a feckload of swearing, haven’t managed to use it elsewhere as it’s a beefy unit so would be overkill for much else

Relocate the heated rear window switch.

Random question - is anyone having trouble viewing this thread specifically in Tapatalk? I can see all the other threads and open them, but this one I get an error message when trying to open it.

In other news...

Just about to order some B4 shocks, but have seen they come in 'standard' and 'sport'. Not much online about the difference, but some say it's to suit lowered cars, but I don't know whether that means 'aftermarket springs lowered', or 'sports model that came lowered OEM from the factory'. What I've found online suggests there's no real difference in the rebound rate, but the sport ones are maybe half an inch shorter.

Can anyone running B4s confirm? At the moment I'm planning on getting the sports, given I've got an FR, but didn't want to be ruining the handling or risk losing my sump...

Couldn't agree more, skip the cheapo ones as you'll end up disappointed.
I've lost count of how many mediocre impact guns I've bought, borrowed, broken & returned over years!

Earlier this year I finally pulled the plug on upgrading my power tools to Milwaukee and Holy smoke what a difference.
The impact gun is rated to 1898nm and does not f#ck about!
Yes they're more expensive but it's worth every penny in my eyes, not only super powerful but fairly quiet as well and the 5.0ah batteries last forever. 🙂

Yes and it's extremely annoying.

As for the Bilstein B4s, I run them on my LCR (when it's roadworthy)
I know there aren't any specific ones listed for the LCR but believe the supplier I got my set from utilises a mix of TT fronts & Leon rears.
This aside I'd opt for the Sports version on the FR, either way they'll be far superior to the abysmally underdamped stock SACHS struts.

That's good to hear - I fitted SuperPro bushings for the most part because of your recommendation, and have heard good things about the B4s. I ordered some of the sport ones so will look forward to the car not rolling when I close any doors, or when the wind blows, or when a butterfly flaps its wings on the other side of the planet...

I love the thought of getting a Milwaukee impact wrench mainly because pretty much all the YouTube car channels I watch use them. Reviews of the Ryobi one seem good though - especially if you buy the bigger battery. Changing shock absorbers will be a good test - that top nut is always an arse.

Have you or was that just a suggestion?
A suggestion. After sunday when the missus and i were out in the car. Cappuccino each.
Mine in the cup holder and hers in the cup holder in the glove box lid.
No prises for guessing what happened when i went round a bend in the road!
