Gents,

Left the mk3 world and got a ateca. Now there’s a mk3 300 but it’s a manual. My mk3 I had was a 184 st dsg. What are the manual boxes like on the 300

Fixed an annoying rattle I've had for about 2 months. I've checked everything on the suspension, interior trim, seatbelts, seat locking mechanism. Turned out to be the boot latch, bit of tape and it's all good.

Any colour suggestion?

Gave it a wash.

The Turtle Wax Hybrid ceramic products I used at the beginning of September have just about stopped beading.

Over 6 months protection, not bad considering we've had lots of rain and filthy roads around here, then 6 weeks where there was salt on the roads and decent amounts of snow.

Cheeky haldex service @ 15000 miles.

Safe to say it needed it, the filter was quite clogged.

Unfortunately I broke the pump connector trying to get it off. Although trying to find a replacement proved difficult as the vw part number isn’t stamped on it. Managed to find it eventually so just in case it’s 1J0 973 722.

Parts required

Fill bolt (N90281802)
Drain bolt (N91082701)
Seal Kit (0CQ598305)
Haldex Oil (G060175A2) 850ml I used about 650ml
Pump connector (1J0973722) only if you choose to remove the pump.

Pump housing bolts torque to 9.5nm
Drain bolt 30nm
Fill bolt 15nm

All in all took around 2hours to complete.

Put a Maxton lip on her. Was a fun install, the first "big" thing I've done on a car since covid started.
Next up: sideskirts. And still in doubt about removing the center exhaust muffler...
