Drove it properly for the first time not having clunking creaking or knocking sounds. What a treat! Polybushed ARB feels good too, gave my suspension rebound a little increase as I was scrubbing on hard corners. Happy as Larry

I've started planning replacements for my bushes - dogbone mount and rear beam bushes I've bought and just need to fit, but would be interested in hearing which ones will make the biggest difference in terms of tightening up the handling. Over the past few years I've noticed the car feels a lot more wallowy, and that's just not on.

It’s hard to say, wishbone bushes are worth doing, and the dog bone was a significant change. I’m not sure how different the top mounts feel as I fitted them with coilovers.

Changing the ARB To the BAM set up has made the car much more supple for sure.

I'll wait and see what happens with the dogbone and rear beams before doing anything else - it sounds like both of those could make a big difference but at the same time, I don't want to start paying out for one thing when it could be something like my shock absorbers that are the issue.

Probably shouldn't say this out loud, but they're more than likely the original shocks. Never had an issue with the MoT or the bounce test, but still...

Both my old and new Leons do that. And my 2 Audi A4s before that.
Must be a VAG thing lol

Sounds to me like the rear calipers are going as mine did that with one sticking don’t have that problem now with two new calipers

Mate when I take the handbrake off it goes so I don’t think they’re sticking. There’s no binding

Mine creaks when I get out on a hill, and I've put on two new calipers over the past couple of years. I just put it down to me being a bit chunky. When it comes to my car, I could probably rip it to pieces and replace every part and the ******* would still creak.

I know everyone will have an opinion on this, but what shocks would you recommend? I'll be getting a full set and have heard good things about Monroe and Bilstein. Everything's stock at the moment. I don't want to spend a fortune but at the same time I don't want to destroy the handling.

You should go for a damper set that come at a set height, they’re so much cheaper than coilovers it’s insane! A 20mm drop would be really subtle and a good improvement

Admittedly mine is pretty slammed on its 17s and I love the handling, the spax shocks I got off Nizza are crazy supple for how low they are.

What have i done today, sacked off working from home to take my fuel pump apart hehe

Fuel pump stripped and reassembled with original o rings as the supplied ones looked bigger. Will see how it affects the issue by tomorrow

Any off them or even the oem ones i got a set off stance + coilovers for mine @£250 for the set the front I have set almost at std and the rear is lowered a bit but have them set at the top so I think that is the 20mm but I set the fronts so the car sits level can’t fault them don’t feel as if I have coilovers fitted nice ride from them

I just had a look and damn, it's tempting. I'm on the same springs and shocks that the car came with, as I'm guessing they weren't replaced in the three years the car was on the road before I got my hands on it. The fact you run them on the TDI means I wouldn't expect any compatibility issues either.

It's getting difficult not to hit that big 'buy' button...

Please don’t get stance + coilovers, they’re the same as JOM just up priced
