Oh no wonder, black are for track use haha

If you want an improvement over stock yet still compliant enough for daily road use then id strongly recommended the Superpro diesel bushes.
It's what I have in mine and I friggin hate unnecessary vibrations.

Just had a look. Ill have to see if i can get a few quid from the black ones to put towards them though.
I'll be in for over £100 for 2 bushes if not.
Going to stick a standard one on it monday just to get it sounding better.
20 years ago, i would have loved it.

Changed my ARB set up from the hoop style and wishbone mounted drop links to a TT arb and standard drop links. They are about an inch too long and the ARB currently is pushed hard against the wishbones.

Got some JOM adjustable drop links on order to see if I can fine tune it.

Also managed to snap two of the stretch bolts on the subframe, so going to order those and attack it next weekend.

Oh and fitted a new pcv hose.

Flew from Germany to London and then took the train down to Poole and picked up my S3 and TT that I bought back in March that have been stuck on Guernsey due to Corona Virus Lockdown! Driving them back to Germany today! Bought some parts along the way as well, unfortunately no Cupra parts but all 1.8T related.

Blue TT is a donor parts car for my 4x4 cupra racecar and I’m not sure what I’ll do with the S3 yet.

Not been happy with my car since fitting the bushes on Saturday. Too track car for me.
Snuck into work today to have a look underneath.
Was hoping to find a detached exhaust mount. I should be so lucky lol.
So will be on the hunt tomorrow for standard bushes/arm.

The diesel version poly bush gives a lot less vibration

Yeh, its pretty easy to do if you can lift the front up to get under there.

Theres a chap on YouTube with a MK4 Golf that does diesel turbo clean with oven cleaner.

Did it loads on my old car as i had a 10 minute commute every day and only ever got to full temp at the weekends.
Dont forget to work the actuator whilst you are doing it.

Also protective goggles, gloves etc a must.

Awesome - thank you. I'm seeing all the signs of sticky vanes - turbo whistle, loss of power and I don't drive particularly far these days either. Bought some Mr Muscle on offer at Sainsbury's today, so I'm all set.

I think I saw a Redline Revs video a while back and will have a look at a few more - I just hope there won't be any play in it when I get the pipes off.

Went for MOT
Garage man rang to ask if I was aware we had 3 months of covid extension to run
Said yes but given age, recent argument with log and miles we do me no happy about 18 month MOT and would like car looked at now please 15 months
Garage man said no time to do anything this week if it needs doing so let's wait till next week when we can ... come and pick it up and don't be stuck without
So spent whole day back and forth to garage with and without car and achieved nothing
So had to treat myself to a big latte on the way home
But feeling very lucky to have such a nice thoughtful honest garage man

I had the same last month but persuaded him to do MOT - night argument was if I had an accident then would my insurers say “It’s okay that it’s not got an official MOT, we’ll still pay out!!”
Oh and I gave my car a good staring at in the shop window reflection - she still looks good

Well she went to see her local mot doctor today, as she fell into the mot extension due to covid wanted to make sure she was all a ok, and she passed with flying colors bet not many have done just over 500 miles in a year due to sorting a few annoying niggles out. ?

Here she is sat on the doctor's table ?

In preparation of an impending suspension change I spent a bit of time building the front suspension up. Should hopefully save some time come fitting.
