New custom front brake lines fitted, rears obviously can't be done until the rear beam is back from the powder coaters.
I'll also be sending the hose brackets and some spare disc shields away for blasting and painting.

Good work as usual, where did you get your brake lines from??
Oh and on the rear beam, I was going to get mine powder coated as well but a good mate has advised me against it and said 2-pack coating would much more durable (powder coated has a greater chance of chipping then letting water in, then your back to square one )
What rear hubs do you recommend??

The brake lines were from this guy on eBay.

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/283462660591

Nice quality and i had them all made in custom lengths at no extra cost.
As you can see, the fronts do away with the short hardlines on the Brembo calipers as they were looking sorry for themselves plus also at my specified length and the rears I had an additional 20mm added to accommodate the larger brakes ill be installing.

Initially I was sent out a set with the wrong fittings but after messaging him he quickly resolved it by making me another complete set.

As for the rear beam im confident that powder coating is the right choice to make for this and if done properly should certainly up to the job.
The company I'm planning to use specialise in car and bike parts restoration and looks to be very good quality.

I'm not sure about the rear hubs actually, I'm was looking at prices and brands and I think I might just buy a complete new hub flanges with the bearings pre fitted rather than replacing the bearings in my old hubs as the price difference seems negligible unless I can source the bearings cheaper.

I did start pulling them apart the other day as it happens.

On a side note - genuine Seat LCR rear axle bushes are bloody expensive!

I got these and have fit them and must say I’m impressed with them I have had powerflex ones before and seemed a bit to hard
Was easy to fit with a tool to push them in used good quality grease in the axel and on the bushes

I really didn't want to go with poly bushes on the rear beam and if I did I'd use Superpro anyway as I have done elsewhere on the car.

As far as I'm aware there are no aftermarket suppliers making the LCR specific rubber rear bushes so it's genuine, poly or a softer compound rubber from the lower spec cars.
The only genuine VAG ones close to the LCR compound are the Skoda VRS bushes.

Finally no clunking, knocking, rattling or weird steering jerks woohoo!

I dropped the car off at STS Tyre Pros a few days ago to have the steering geometry set up properly.

They use the Hunter Pro Align systems so had a bit of faith in using these guys.

Acquired a friggin puncture on route FFS...

So many things on this thread I want to do on my FR+ daily!

Them clocks are lush!
Audi strut brace, where did you get the rivnuts and bolts? I need a strut on the front of mine.
The covers for sides of engines are they Audi as well? mine hasn't even got a bettery cover at moment
KVW100 - this seems to be hard to get these days
Audi jacking points do they just push in?

Hmm thanks for the reminder that I've essentially done sod all to the car for some time now, let alone updated this thread.
The combination of working full time, child care and being constantly let down and delayed by people supplying parts and services has simply meant it's all ground to an abrupt halt BUT we have some progress and updates coming very soon as my rear beam, rear ARB and a box of assorted bits and pieces were collected from the powder coaters in Thursday and after months of chasing TPS for parts I decided to sack them off and place and order with RPS instead which will be arriving early next week - rebuilding can then commence woohoo!

The clocks are lush and one of my favourite mods tbh.

Rivnuts / nutserts are readily available on eBay, Amazon etc etc

The coolant bottle cover and battery cover are both taken from an Audi S3 8L.
Not cheap or particularly easy to find in good condition either and sourcing the battey cover retaining bracket undamaged is virtually impossible and causing me massive headaches.

KVW100 - Great little mod that I've used for years but admittedly not seen for sale for a long time.

Audi TT jacking points are simply push fit (with a trolley jack) into the existing chassis bung holes.

As usual, many more weeks have passed and as per usual sod all has happened lol

BUT after waiting literally months to gather the rest of my parts from TPS and eventually giving up on them I've made a step forwards.

RPS came to the rescue in the end and even worked out a fraction cheaper and that's including postage whereas I'd usually collect in person from TPS.
That's not to say I didn't have any hitches along the way...

Wrong rear beam bushes sent out
One of rear beam bolts missing
Incorrect AC O-rings

With that said their customer service was great and Adrian quickly rectified the problems although the rear beam bushes had to be special ordered from Barcelona as there was only one LCR bush in the country.
The AC o-rings were also a headache which took us both a while to figure out as I seemed to have a multitude of sizes but none that actually fitted??

Anyone need some 6R Polo bushes?

More pics to follow with my fresh mountain of parts.

Parts just collected from the powder coaters.
Took longer than expected and if I'm honest the finish isn't as good as I was hoping either but this is no show car and it's all loads better than how I sent them so good enough.

Rear beam bushes installed using my new bush tool which doesn't fit LCR bushes properly due to the plastic collars either side FFS!
Fortunately i had some steel tubing the exact size in the workshop to allow me to knock up a 20mm wide ring so that the bushes would clear the tool and pull entirely through the beam.

And this piece for those aren't aware is the Audi S3 8L battery cover retaining bracket and these things are ridiculously difficult to source on their own let alone unbroken!
It's taken me at least a year and this is the third one and finally one in a good usuable condition.
