Yeah, @paddy6789 has the bronze flag and cupra logo on the front.

This is the other one:

Just to add to the confusion there was also this one (which I'm sure @paddy6789 said wasn't an 'R')

There's a video on Eaziwrap Instagram of most of you guys at the rolling road. Def saw Damo's (It had carbon lettering instead of Cupra) and your car in amongst them. The one with Apr decals on the side had a flashing blue light on the dashboard.

Yeah the APR one just went Stage 2 with APR so will be interesting to see how his setup compares to mine. It was a great day. Looking forward to the next :)

What a car.

Out of curiosity.. what gas boot struts have you installed, and how long have you had them on there for?

I’ve got the same set that I used for 2 years in my previous Cupra 290. They were from an eBay seller but he’s also on Instagram - I think they’re about £45 if you go to him direct. If you give me your instagram, I can tag you on a post for him and he’ll possibly give you a deal :)

Are they the upgraded Octavia ones?

The bonnet ones are custom made I believe. I’m not too sure about the boot ones :(

There is a thread on here somewhere that has the links to the boot struts on ebay. They were the ones I bought for like £25.

Ah okay, it was just a case of wondering how long you had the new boot struts fitted and if they've caused you any issues, I assume when you long press the boot pop the tailgate opens all the way?

I've read that due to them being intended for a heavier tailgate, when closing it can warp the tailgate or even damage the lock in long term.

Yeah, the long button press opens the boot. I’ve had them in use for over 3 years and not had any problems :)

Had a few more additions thanks to Progressive Parts:

RacingLine Oil Management and Autotech High Pressure Fuel Pump internals. All prepped and ready for stage 3 now :)

Next planned additions would be the Leyo Charge Pipe Kit has the 034 Motorsport boost hoses.

Received a package from Eaziwrap too with the black sunstrip and copper Cupra door sills. They’ll be a stressful task to add to the car.

Hiya love the car,

was the pikey r600 worth it?

In all honesty, it’s hard to tell if the modifications to the stock air box made any difference at all.

With the air box modified, I’d also added the turbo hose, muffler delete, turbo elbow and a panel filter, so these did make a difference. I’m guessing the pikey r600 just helped with a bit more airflow but I doubt any dyno would show significant results.

It just gave me a reason to fettle with the car

Thats a really lovely car, just read through the thread for the first time.

If I am not mistaken, the Cupra R specific wheels you have are an ET40 offset - 10mm wider than the standard wheels on newer Cupra's (need to check mine but pretty sure they are ET50). Is this right?

Do you have any specific details on how the overall suspension/geometry is different between the Cupra R and the regular Cupra? Presume they have used some different parts?

EDIT:

Looks like your wheels part number is 5F0 071 499 E which is 19x8 ET40. Mine are 5F0 601 025 AC which are 19x8 ET50.
