OBDeleven modifications

For those who have not seen it latest news on the new dongle

Dear Customer,

We are sorry to inform that the release of Next Generation OBDeleven device has been delayed for unlimited time.

Unfortunately, manufacturer did not meet our high standards - after internal and external testing, hardware hasn’t passed our quality control. We already had 4 iterations of the device with different modification, tuning and none of them were suitable for the broad usage. As you are already aware, we have constantly pushed the release date for this reason.

We have localized the issue which we can fix in due time, though we’re not confident enough to set any dates, neither for release nor an update. That is why we are delaying Next Generation OBDeleven device for unlimited time.

As planned, we keep working on iOS software development and will inform you about the latest updates.

We want our device to be as perfect as it can be, before releasing it to the public. So, we will need to face all the challenges in order to achieve that.

Sincerely,
OBDeleven team

Pity, but on the other hand, as a QA professional, hats off to them for doing the right thing for their brand and customers.
I guess some mild unhappiness from this announcement would be far bigger of the product did not live up to the expectations

Just seen this today - thanks to @JonnyG
On the pre facelift you have to enter the following coding - might not be needed on newer cars
Front wiper stops in Service Mode when opening the bonnet
With this mod, each time you open the hood, the clean ones will be placed in service mode. Very useful to wash the moon or change the clean. In normal position when opening them they give in the bonnet.
1 - Module 09 - Electronic control unit. Code (31347)
2 - Adaptation
3 - Select - Windshield wipers
4 - Sub-menu - Wischer abparken bei oeffnen der motorhaube
5 - Change value to On

I did this and nothing happend (bad or good) but just seen a note about this and in order to use this function

1/ turn the ignition on,
2/ turn it off again
3/ press the wiper stalk down within around 5 seconds.

Wipers are now parked in the upright position.

On my facelift FR I have the same option 'Wischer abparken bei oeffnen der motorhaube' under Front Wiper in Module 9. Currently set to 'not active'

Will try it tonight and feedback the results

Update to my last post above...

I can confirm that changing setting to 'active' works the same on a face-lift car.

Turn ign on and off.
Move wiper stalk down within 5 seconds and wipers move to vertical position.

Turn ign on, move stalk down and wipers go down.

Hey all I'm new to all this obdeleven pro stuff how does the long coding work and what's the difference between adaption and long coding?
Looking for video in motion instead of using credits?

Thanks to DV52 once again for this following explanation (which made perfect sense to me):

All modern cars can be considered to be nothing more than a number of control systems connected to an engine and a set of wheels (yes this is a gross simplification, I agree!). Most control systems in a car are what's called "closed-loop systems". And ALL these control systems operate the same- they all perform a very basic task: They have an internal process that produces an output signal based on feedback and an input signal(s) - often feedback comes from a sensor/transducer of some sort.

DV52 Picture (thanks)

In all modules that operate control systems (i.e control modules) and regardless of the vehicle, there are really 3 x aspects that are able to be modified:

1/ Firmware
2/ Adaptation channels
3/ long coding

Firmware is like the heart-beat of the module's life-force: this is the internal software that operates the procedures for controlling some aspect(s) of the car. Firmware determines how the module will operate and the module's firmware relies on "inputs" to tell it about the external world: how the car is physically configured and what"parameters" the module is to use in certain circumstances (like how to turn ON/OFF each of the car's 35 x exterior lights). Some diagnostic cables like VCP can change firmware, but not OBD11, or VCDS.

The "inputs" that the firmware relies upon are "2 (Adaption)" and "3 (Long coding)" above. Now, I'm not sure what particular distinction VW officially uses between "adaptation channels" and "long coding", but my guess from observations is as follows:

Long coding are the software switches that tell the firmware what physical sensors/physical switches are installed in the car. For example, when a light-sensor is installed, a long coding Byte/Bit has to be set to tell the control module firmware to start measuring the sensor output and to do stuff to control the car's lighting.
Adaptation channels are generally different sorts of "inputs" that tell the module how-to-behave. For example, Leuchte programming is done by changing adaptation channels - these channels tell the module what function to allocate to each lamp and what level of illumination to give to that lamp.

Firstly VIM is possible to do manually but it is not easy (more so as you are new to this) so i would always recommend paying credits. you get 6 free a day so it only takes 14 days to get the credits.

i also think its illegal so just be aware before you make the change

Don't get me wrong I was not saying you were going to look at it and not having a go just sharing info.

My understanding is its just plain illegal to have this enabled
I may be wrong but you only have to consider what a police man would say if he caught you driving the car whilst the tv was playing in the car.

Read all the disclaimers that OBD11 put on this app - they do not recommend it and it can be illegal.
From memory Audi have actually deliberately coded it now so that you cant change it

Not possible I believe. My 67 plate CUPRA has it and I believe it’s not able to be applied to pre-facelift models. (Unless someone disputed this )

I did put a disclaimer in lol

It may depend on the MIB2 firmware then. Or maybe when the car was released. We do know that same models across a year do have different sat nav maps etc so I’d expect different firmware across the production year too.

I'm sure they must have different skins built-in to the MIB2 units but I can't find it on the obdeleven
I'll keep searching lol
Btw anyone got into green mode too?
I did do it via obdeleven but didn't do jack? Just showed service mode not development mode

The GEM (green engineering menu) should be available if you hold down the 'Menu' button for about 30 seconds, play with it at your peril !!

Hey guys,
Just bought a 2015 Leon FR this week.

I want to use the second key as my main key. However, the fob doesn't lock / unlock the car, nor it manages to start the engine. When I try to start the engine it stays "Immobilizer active". The key has new battery and the light lights up well when a button is pressed.
I also tried a lot of different combinations found on the internet for synchronizing the key (and also the method I found in the user manual), unfortunately with no success.

Is it possible to pair the key with OBDelevent?

Thanks in advance.
