I did mine last night to version 1120, but ended up with vw product code instead of 6PO in software information. had to go back in and change this too. other than that i got the SVM error but only shows in Carista no other code reader apps, Seems to work fine but i never really use it just wanted to because.

You can if you haven't backed up use the down load version that correspondent to the original. I've helped two people do that twice on here who havent backed up. The overall.nds file is specific to the release that is installed in the unit, it remains unchanged. It's the hidden folder that is locked to the unit and you can't delete that in any case. You do 3. thou, but that why you can get back to were you started, without the backup, assuming you can find online the original release.

The DiscoverCare package is generally released after the main release. I don't bother with that. It hasn't had great success in the VW world. The Seat release is always late and as has been said this time round VW re-released it again to give the whole of Europe, Seat haven't caught up with this yet.

Never come across the directory renaming... thats not been a reported issue. May be the original was so old it needed that ?. Suspect so.

Good addition on the backup part! Thanks! With those two posts we have a complete story now! Guess this will help a lot of people.

On the directory/folder: nothing worked for me until I tried changing the folder name, it was the only difference to the new packages I discovered, and it worked out, luckily! I indeed updated from a 2016 version to 2019/2020 directly, probably somewhere in between the folder structure got updated or so.

I don't fancy DiscoverCare either, prefer the direct downloads, especially since downloading thru DC is slow af, but just thought to mention it for those who don't feel too comfortable with direct downloads, if any at all....

It does do that. I just left the product code to VW :).

I have just updated my maps using the info provided here, and it all seems to work fine, EXCEPT that now I have noticed that in an unrestricted 60 MPH zone, the speed limit sign on my satnav says 60 MPH as normal but above that it says 50 MPH at the same. The same thing happened on a dual carriagway, it said 70MPH and also 60MPH at the same time. Is this normal, as it did not do it before the update to 1115. Have I somehow got dual speed limits for cars and also lorries/vans?

I've got the same problem, but this was raised way back in the thread and I'm not sure if it was ever resolved or whether it's related to a particular download link.

Yes. The update gives a few issues... these are also historic I posted this from the Tiguan board further up

Region Version Version Number Part Number Map Version
Europe V1 0235 3G0-919-866 ECE 2014/15
Europe V2 0335 3G0-919-866-E ECE 2015
Europe V3 0430 3G0-919-866-H ECE 2015/16
Europe West V4 0521 3G0-919-866-M ECE1 2016
Europe West V5 0635 3G0-919-866-S ECE1 2016/17 << roads through villages seem to default to 60 unless a a sign is seen
Europe West V6 0730 3G0-919-866-AQ ECE1 2017
Europe West V7 0820 3G0-919-866-BC ECE1 2017/18 << Last good one? Will see shortly
Europe West V8 0915 3G0-919-866-BJ ECE1 2018 << Sends you off dual carriageways for no good reason, roads through villages seem to default to 60 unless a a sign is seen
Europe West V9 1030 5NA.919.866 ECE1 2018/19 << Thinks dual carriageways are 60 mph

So whilst people were grateful to get a free update there are issues with the data preparation that goes into the system. That's been noted elsewhere. TomTom is suppose to prepare the material for VAG.

The routine between the standard and the Plus is different and the roads are different as well. If the road speeds are wrong in the system then the routine algorithm will pick silly routes. That's what it does down here. I've got the Plus on mine and the Standard on the partners.

For the dentist the Plus tries to take me up a cycle track which Here Maps did not show as a cycle track (showed incorrectly as a road), the standard doesn't and shows the map correctly. Reckon the standard does have TomTom modified maps on it from Here Maps whilst the Plus (High) is more based on Here Maps original. Half a dozen of one, six on the other. I'd prefer the road speeds to be correct so the routing works correctly rather than added value TomTom edits.

Hopefully VAG will sort it out. Another problem is one panel on top of another on some roads. On a VAG board a few years ago a wag suggested they put the lower form school lunch computer club on the standard one :).

Steve I'll be interested to see if they can activate the V13 card and if its any good, I've been told it has issues and a V14 is just about to be released, the person that told me was from a garage that sells Seat cars (since 1995) rather than a dealership, seemed honest and upfront with me.

Well after a month of trouble free driving with the V13 map pack it seems to have developed a glitch, which is presumably what you were warned about.

A couple of times this week the Infotainment unit has spontaneously started beeping as if operated by the Invisible Man / a poltergeist

The first time it started trying to connect to my mobile via Bluetooth then yesterday it decided to start scrolling through my DAB radio presets!

That's Mib1 if any one is concerned about Mib2. Post 1423.

Tried a long left hand press on the On / off button till the speakers bang so as to reboot the infotainment unit ?. More like the firmware having a problem and the program running outside of the area it's suppose to run in. The old leaky program. Although I'd keep the SD card set for read only just in case ;).

Confused, because on my 2018 May FR 1.4 when I select System information in the Sat Nav, the following screen gives me that info but also has an option in the top left of that screen to "Update"
Confused as to what is this for ? I don't remember seeing this mentioned in this forum.

This is System Information screen ( presumably Mib2 Standard? ).

Device part number: 5QA035858B

Hardware: H41

Software: 0468

Navigation database: 6P0919866AB

0915

ECE1 2018

SHIELD: SHIELD 2016-44 (build 309)

That is a Mib2 Standard. That does come up as you say. I believe that's for firmware update use. There is a thread.

https://forums.seatcupra.net/index.php?threads/sw-update-for-mib2-infotainment-system.427280/page-20

Spanish boards have some of the firmware updates and instructions referenced on the thread above. There are people around here who have done it but if your unit is new and their isn't an update in the public domain you might not be able to do much.

Reading the end of the thread I think they were after the 2018 / 2019 colour border outline you get on the screen. It blends in with the downlighting in the door :). The latest firmware allows you to set the navigation volume speech on the bottom right button group below the auto zoom button on / off. If you got all of that you may be uptodate on the firmware. There have been reported bugs least in the mib2 standard which might have been fixed. Freezing screen etc.

Thanks for that Tell, can now attempt to update maps following your excellent post #1326, didn't want to try that if there was an simpler solution using that "Update" button.

My screen doesn't have the volume speech button on the Nav screen, but I'm not bothered with that.
Thanks again.

What happened was that VAG groups first release for this round divided Europe into five areas since their technical people decided they couldn't get all of the European release on one SD card. By popular request VAG group tried a little harder and in December released the map all on one file that fits an SD card. Seat always runs behind so their downloads don't take into account this release, hence why I said use the newer one

Thanks Tell for explaining, just a bit of a difference in download size, gotta pity those members who don't have a decent download speed.

It's not exactly a matter of maps update but it affects them as well...

After picking up the Copra from the dealer last week I noticed that the "telephone" tile on the home screen was missing. Then I tried to open the maps but I was constantly getting a message for "database fault". The system is a Mib2 standard with the following characteristics:

Part No: 5F0035877
Hardware: H50
Software: 0514

Navigation database: N/A (hence the above message)

Media codec: 5001.0.0.1

I should point out that the car was manufactured on 14.11.18 and delivered to me on 7.2.2019. It came with an SD card with the maps in it and it seemed to work fine the first time I saw the car before paying for it. Then I ordered the Full Link activation and I suspect that the addition of its sw affected the firmware of the infotainment. Of course I'm getting it back to the dealer but I would like to listen to any ideas before going there.

Is there anywhere that I can get -- Europe West V7 0820 3G0-919-866-BC ECE1 2017/18 << Last good one? Will see shortly

If this is the last good one, I would like to use it, as it is still a lot newer than my original maps, and I don't like the sound of the "it may try to send you down a cycle track" for the later ones like I have just installed, with double speed limits.
