Hello to everyone

Not new to seatcupra.net, new to the Leon Mk3 section, used to own a 2011 Ibiza FR 1.4 TSi that got stolen last November. Anyway, i got a used 2014 Leon FR 2.0 TDi 184 to replace the stolen Ibiza and last Friday i got OBD11 Pro delivered to me.

I got the needle sweep thing working and i tried to alter the flashes on changing lanes to 5, but no luck at this. Although i tried to reset lights to factory settings through the sound system, no luck (the previous owner had installed an Android double din that has access to car settings). Any ideas ?

Will using this void warranty? Also should you be telling your insurance about any changes made?Sorry about the simple questions, I'm new to this.

If I disable start stop using the app will I get a start stop error every time I bring the car to a stop? I want to disable permanently but my OCD couldn't handle a dash warning every time the car came to a standstill :)

No warning as far as I am aware, all you are doing with the changes is updating the parameters so they are never met and therefore stop start is not applied.

In any event if you do apply it and you got the error just revert thats the best bit of this stuff

We still need to understand the Stop/Start setup on the Cupra R. That’s the way I want mine set up. That is normally OFF until you press the Button and it activates it.

It depends what you mean by a warning or error message. I've disabled the stop/start in my 280 DSG by cranking up the voltage threshold. When I come to a stop, the gear indicator changes to an A with a line through it to indicate that the parameters haven't been met. However, that's only a small symbol in the corner of the display, not an in-your-face message.

As @theoldboy says, try it and see whether you like it. If not, very easy to change back.

Disabled start stop and can handle the A with line through popping up on dash ;) First time I came to a stop, start-stop error flashed up on nav display but didn't do it again which my OCD can handle.

I looked into one of these start stop memory devices which remembers last button press when turning ignition off and on. Anyone tried one?

I'm sure I saw somewhere that you can code the stop/start system so it memorises the last position the button was switched to and I'm sure it mentioned something about being able to reverse the light on the switch so it works the opposite way round.
May only be with VCDS.

Can you remember where you saw this at?

I have a couple questions before I purchase this...

Can someone tell me the cost of credits?
I also heard there's a way to get a small amount of free credits in the app? Is this via watching a short video or something? I get my car in march and thinking of ordering one, signing up and building up some credits if it would work like that?

Credits can be earned (6 a day) by watching videos which takes about 10 minutes max. Credits can be bought but if you buy early and build up the credits you will have plenty by the time your car arrives.

If you buy Pro you can code changes to your car that doesn’t require you to use credits. Pro costs approx £25 more than the std OBDeleven though. However with coding you can do more than by using the pre designed credit costing apps. For example, I coded the ambient lighting on my wife’s 67 plate Leon to include colours not in the palette included in the car. This cannot be done using credits.

Therefore it’s best to see what mods you wish to make upftont and see if you need Pro to code them or credits only.

Bear in mind the OBDeleven will work on any VAG group cars (Seat, Skoda, VW and Audi) all under the same account. So there is scope to mod friends cars for beer tokens etc.

I'm wondering if I saw something on one the VCDS forums or the Ross-Tech site, I might have even seen something when I was using VCDS.
As I wasn't particularly interested in doing it, I didn't take a lot of notice, but I am 99% sure that I did see it somewhere!

So I'm not after all this coding stuff... I just want to be able to tweak things such as...

Door lock/unlock chirps

One click mirror folding

Rear LEDs always on

Park Pilot Reverse display

Rain closing windows

Turn down soundaktor

Stop start system disable

Is there any reason to spend the extra ££ on this and not the carista module?

If thats all you want to do then get Carista, If you want to be able to change the car the way you want to then OBD11

I read this on the OBDeleven forum and it does NOT apply to Seat Car's

I checked my OBDeleven to see if I had the required parameters but I don't on my Cupra 300 (and therefore I would say no-one has). A Channel 34 is required to be selected under Control Module 09 - Adaptations, but it isn't listed.

Anyone get annoyed with the warning message telling you to turn off your foglights? I'm not saying its a good thing to do, but it can be coded out.

On the facelift Leon's (only one i've tested it on)

Under Control Module 09
Adaptations
Aussenlicht_Heck (Translates to: Exterior Rear Light)
Nebelschlusslicht_Warngeschwindigkeit (Translates to: Rear Fog Warning Speed)
Currently states 60km/hr
Change to value you wish between 0-255.
Confirm by Green Tick

When it quotes channels that is almost certainly a non UDS control module so does not apply to the MQB Platform cars (eg MK3 Leon)
