Which Leon Cupra version do you own?

As I was driving to work today I experimented with the dsg farts for a bit, and I managed to get it to fart several times in a row. Here's how I did it:
  • Make sure the engine's hot (oil temp > 95C)
  • Get into Sport mode (may also work in Cupra, haven't tested), and gearbox in manual
  • Shift 1st to 2nd under low load (I'd say max 20% throttle) at about 3-4k rpm
If I can reproduce it again this afternoon I may just make an attempt to record it from inside the cabin.
When I tested a 300 4drive you could get farts in Cupra mode (didnt test sport) as you said under light load and in the highers revs. The car I tested only had 100km on the odo

Probably not for a few weeks at least. Also if you've went through a broker you'll need to keep asking them for info. If you went direct you'll likely be told when it happens.
Yeah I went through a broker, if I don’t hear anything in a couple of weeks, I’ll send them an email.

My hire agreement had a ‘Required Date’ on it of 29/03/2019.

I currently own a 280 cupra but fancy a new one that's in warranty and I've seen a good offer on nationwide vehicle contracts.

2 grand down and then 24 monthly payments of 230. Has anyone had any dealings with them? The deal seems to good to be true
I'm thinking selling my car keeping the cash and then paying monthly.

I think this is a better deal https://www.leasingoptions.co.uk/specialdeal?id=69

I'm doing the same. Have a 280, but I can lease at a lower monthly cost, no tax, no MOT, no cambelt and water pump change which is due this year...!

Have a look at Gateway2Lease as well, that's where I ordered mine from at the end of October.

Just in the middle of having water pump done and I really don't want to spend more money fixing it up.

I've never had a lease car always avoided them but it seems to be the thing nowadays. Things with lease is it's not my car and things get complicated when damage occurs from what I can gather. Its got its pros and cons, I'm going to look into it

Yeah I hesitated for a while because I thought, well I could have mine paid off in a year/18 months, why would I go and get a lease...

Mine has already had a new clutch etc, and I know once I've paid it off I'll start looking at what I can upgrade to. Mine cost me £17,000, if I upgraded it after 3 years, I'd be looking at an extra £6k on top, whereas I know for certain now my Cupra is going to cost me a little over £7,200 because of a couple extra options. So realistically I'd need to keep hold of my car for a while before it saved me any money over leasing, by which point the engine might have exploded and I'd be stuck.

There's not really any complications with damage to a lease car. It's your responsibility to fix either via your own pocket or insurance. Same as buying a car any other way.

Hi all can anyone help ? Managed to get my Seat order number today from lease company. Do I have anyway I can track car as know some companies allow this ?

So it is actually rather easy to force a dsg fart, you just need a warm engine, low load and high rpm. Higher rpm gives you a longer, better fart. I wasn't able to mount a camera or phone properly anywhere to record a video, but I was able to record audio from the cabin. You'll find the clip in the archive. Enjoy :).View attachment cupra_exhaust.mp3.zip

Unfortunately SEAT do not offer tracking of orders. It’s a case of making phone calls for updates and waiting.
Thanks for reply, so who gives build week Seat ? as I’m just being told it should arrive start of March.

Agreed.

My lease was in a big accident back in 2017. The estimate was around 10/11k.

I went through SEAT ensurance and had it repaired at my dealership. I was given a guarantee that if there were any issues with the repair that VWFS would pursue it with the repairer and not myself.

Only thing that put me off leasing was the modding. Although VWFS' stance was as long as it was returned to stock for the collection at the end of the lease it was ok.

Had mine inspected yesterday and collected today. The tyres were worn and I'd left some OBD11 mods in place. There were no additional charges.

VWFS have also kept me in car for over a year at reduced rentals whilst I've been waiting for my new order to come in.

Leasing can be a very good option for some.

Hi mate, call Seat customer service on 0808 522 2222, press option 7 and give them your SLI number, they've been quite helpful both times I've rang and they can give you updates on your order but you will have to ring each time you want an update. Hope this helps!

Wierd it’s only under low load?? The Golf R I had on loan b4 my ST finally arrived farted on ha4d acceleration when in Sport an Race modes on both auto and manual changes anywhere from 4K up.. my ST is up to nearly quipped miles now so I’m starting to play a bit, but happy in auto, not really heard any farts at all so far

All these deals at around 250 a month are pulling me in the direction to lease. I might start enquiring. Nothing seems to beat the nationwide vehicle contracts offer I've seen.

They do sound good.

My original deal was £249 deposit and £249 pcm
For 24 months at 8k (no admin fee)

It meant I could blow some cash on options.

I thought those deals were long gone. Glad to hear that they are coming back.

On my MY18 ST the farts are almost like a thud and very quiet, unless you put the seats down then you can hear it more as a fart. I discovered this when collecting the Christmas tree!
