So it is actually rather easy to force a dsg fart, you just need a warm engine, low load and high rpm. Higher rpm gives you a longer, better fart. I wasn't able to mount a camera or phone properly anywhere to record a video, but I was able to record audio from the cabin. You'll find the clip in the archive. Enjoy :). View attachment 3884

Suprised at how many posts there have been up to now that have suggested that the farts were gone from the new model.

Thanks for the share mate. Exactly what I wanted to hear!

Wierd it’s only under low load?? The Golf R I had on loan b4 my ST finally arrived farted on ha4d acceleration when in Sport an Race modes on both auto and manual changes anywhere from 4K up.. my ST is up to nearly quipped miles now so I’m starting to play a bit, but happy in auto, not really heard any farts at all so far
It may be that it does fart a bit under high load but that you can't really hear it from the cabin because of the increased engine noise and everything else going on. The MY19 Cupras definitely have a more muted and lower pitched fart than the older models.

When I receive the GoPro mounts I ordered I'll make some exhaust vids from outside the car.

All these deals at around 250 a month are pulling me in the direction to lease. I might start enquiring. Nothing seems to beat the nationwide vehicle contracts offer I've seen.
I recently got mine from carleasespecialoffers.co.uk (Wessex fleet)
24 month fully maintained for 10k miles £230 a month with a 2 grand deposit.
They deal a lot with seat and I got mine really quickly compared to others, worth a look!

Had slight issues cancelling my original Cupra order with Nationwide (didn't like the MY19 changes and the altered Grey to what I had ordered), but the family car was done through them before that and was very smooth and simple process. They generally do have the best prices around other than the odd limited deal elsewhere.

Just be aware that you have to pay the broker fee (£198 I think), and that this is non-refundable once finance docs are signed. Luckily for me, with all the Copra farce and docs having to be reissued as a 290 not 300, I technically hadn't signed the required finance docs (only the old ones) so got most of my brokerage fee back.

After much further farces of Polo GTI+ and Alfa Giulia leases falling through, I am back waiting for a Cupra lease. Decided now I can have Desire Red option included in the price and not an extra I can live with the badging changes

I just tested if I could create farts under higher load, but I really can't hear them from the cabin. I even put the back seats down.

What I've noticed is that the gearbox shifts are a lot faster when under load. This may be the reason for the absence of farts.

Also, it already starts farting at a cooler engine temp than I expected. Obviously you should avoid doing this to prevent damaging the engine, but it does fart.

Does anyone have a photo of the 290 lux leather seats. Unsure whether to just get a 290ez. I like the idea of winter pack and the keyless entry on the lux but never been a fan of full leather prefer alcantara

Shame really. Because I don't like leather seats I'm losing out on the added extras that come with the lux varient
You can always order the alcantara seats separately if you really want to.

EDIT: If you can get them, I highly recommend the bucket seats, they offer amazing support while still being super comfortable (no issues driving 200+ miles in a single go).

I'll have a look mate. I've been looking at the specs between lux and non lux. It's winter pack, kessy/wireless charging id be missing which isn't the worst. I'm going to test drive a cupra with leather and see if I like it, if not ill order non lux

Does the non-Lux come with ACC?

In the UK we can no longer get the bucket seats. We also can't choose a lux without leather seats, that's the way it comes with leather. Only way to have alcantara is choose the standard (non lux) model cupra.

Could it be the soudn actuator drowning the farts out?

To b honest on my ST 280 I never heard them until I got the BCS system.

The Carbon edition you could here it all the time even before I had the res delete. Not sure if there is a res delete yet for the GPF cars or if it is any different.

I'm experimenting in Sport mode to keep the sound actuator in check, and I still can't hear any farts under higher load. Maybe you can hear them from outside the car. I'll have to check after I receive the GoPro mounts I ordered.

Before we continue this discussion, I've noticed that in my enthusiasm I've drifted off topic quite a bit. Therefore I've created a new thread to talk all about farts, pops, bangs, and other things Copra 290; link. Let's keep this thread about ordering a Leon Cupra.

For those that have the newer Copra's, I've seen some photos of the key fobs and some seem to have a copper Seat logo on there too, is this standard? Mine is due to arrive in March at some point and my wife already has an Ateca which I have a key for, will be good if they have different coloured logos so I know which is which!
