Thanks, I'll check those settings. it's got to be something to do with trailer speeds as it goes down to a single '40' symbol when you enter a 40MPH zone.

I've been out for a blast around Berkshire this morning and yes, it seems to be exactly this; I'm only getting the two speed limit symbols appearing whenever I move into a 'national speed limit' area. You then get the faster speed limit (non-towing) appear below the slower speed limit (towing), as per Steve's screenshot in post 1330.

As Tell says in post 1338, you can configure the unit in Settings to calculate routes based on towing or not towing, but I do already have that turned off and it appears not to make a difference. Also, you get the dual speed symbols appear even when the unit is not navigating / following a route. Obviously not a problem in the grand scheme of things, it's just good to know what it is (and, indeed, to have maps that are significantly more recent than the version 0635 which was in the car when I bought it four weeks ago!).

See post 1326 I've updated the text, changed MAC to PC and told you where to get 7Zip from. Use the original post for the graphics. :).
I think I’ve buggered it up tried but still won’t work on my car I’m not sure if I haven’t copied my original maps over to the pc as it won’t work when I put my old maps back so I’m wondering if the dealer wil rectify it for me or to buy this of eBay

Did you back up your original card before you wiped/overwrote it?

When you put the new version on your card did you copy the file from your backup to the new card as detailed in line 3 of the pic?

That's not a mib2 as so that wouldn't work. The commercial sd cards divide into upgrades and new ones. The new ones have to be configured to the car with ODIS which is dealer only more or less whilst the update ones are for where you have a working system. Don't know whether that's a card with the hidden file and the rest corrupted or not.

That's why you needed to take a backup. It's possible that if you found the download for the release that you have and copied that to the SD card it would work. Basically on your SD card a hidden folder which you can't deleted is married up to the unit. I don't think the deletable stuff is modified which is why if you get hold of that release it might fix it. Perhaps someone can send you that.

Do a file search on your PC for that NDS file if you have lost where you put it. It must tally with your original SD, not the new one, that's the one paired to the release that your unit knows about via the hidden file.

Got to have the same directory structure and the substitute NDS file exactly in the same place as before. You could also try a reboot which is a long press on the volume button till you hear the speakers thud. Then press on.

It's going to be more like a corrupted file on the download, placement in the wrong place. Bedlam said about an additional graphics file he deleted.

From what I posted above:

Region Version Version Number Part Number Map Version
Europe V1 0235 3G0-919-866 ECE 2014/15
Europe V2 0335 3G0-919-866-E ECE 2015
Europe V3 0430 3G0-919-866-H ECE 2015/16
Europe West V4 0521 3G0-919-866-M ECE1 2016
Europe West V5 0635 3G0-919-866-S ECE1 2016/17 << roads through villages seem to default to 60 unless a a sign is seen
Europe West V6 0730 3G0-919-866-AQ ECE1 2017
Europe West V7 0820 3G0-919-866-BC ECE1 2017/18 << Last good one? Will see shortly
Europe West V8 0915 3G0-919-866-BJ ECE1 2018 << Sends you off dual carriageways for no good reason, roads through villages seem to default to 60 unless a a sign is seen
Europe West V9 1030 5NA.919.866 ECE1 2018/19 << Thinks dual carriageways are 60 mph

Does it say

Europe West V4 0521 3G0-919-866-M ECE1 2016

If so it's 0521 release you need which might help to get the file that matches with the card.

Will Google around for a VAG down load or Skoda if not deleted off their servers.

If so believe it's this

from the trusty German Skoda site, post 12

The download is still live.

Ok I'm going to let another expert who actually has the unit take over since I have the Mib2 High they might spot something I'm not. Directory picture of the top would be handy and the date on the NDS file to see whether it's the right one.

I'd recommend a clean down load of the new one again, failing that revert back to the old copy backed up, if not the 0521 downloaded. After that I'm exhausted of suggestions, back to the dealer and tell them it stopped working having restoring 0521.

Hello,

I have a MIB 1 system in my Leon from 2015. There was no SD in it for navigation when i bought the car so i tested the SD from my friends car. He got the V5 AT version and that one worked also in my car. Then i found one V5 SD for myself and i went to test it but it didn't worked. V6 didn't also work. The only one that worked the guy had was V2.

Is it true that 1 SD is for 1 car and that it need to be paired? How can i use the V2 and V5 from my friend without any problems?

Is there a method on how to update the maps in my car without buying the SD from the dealer? I live in the Netherlands and i do not know if my car ever had Mapcare.

Is that picture after you updated it since got a bmd.nds file there with a 2016 date. Everything must be updated except the overall.nds one. So the bmd.nds is the wrong one if thats the working one you have updated. Reckon you copied the directory back rather than just the overall.nds
