Hi all,
I have MY16, MIB 2 ,H30 hardware and 6P0 0820 software... is there anything to be gained from upgrading to 1030?

I already use Waze through CarPlay but wondered if the software upgrade was anything (cosmetic or functional) other than updating the nav maps?

Thanks

It's updates maps only. Another board posted up the deficiency in the releases as far as speed and roads but they are personal.

I hadn't seen that discussion till recent.

Those that drive with ACC get wound up when the car is cruising at the wrong speed informed by the navigation recorded road speed. If they had dynamic traffic sign recognition it would adapt if it read the signage ok. Handy in road works. That's the integration of the built in satnav with other car systems.

I've joined the modding club today so I'm on the ECE 2019 175 maps and can see all the new roads build from my 2016/17 in car one. tat de tah. Followed the Walone route with professionals to do the job:). It survived being made into a retrofit unit. Long day. Walone gave me pointers to check. Did say he could be the Guinea Pig.

Mib2 Standard one replacing 1030 I believe is this

http://vw-mapscdn.tdd.adacorcdn.com/DiscoverMedia2_EU1_1115_V10.7z

So that's 1115 which will be ECE1 2019

taken from the same Skoda German link as before

https://www.skodacommunity.de/threa...lease-2018-2019-fuer-mib1-mib2.103181/page-80

Post post 1596

I believe post 1598 is a different variant so go with 1115 release... but don't blame me :). Merely mention the other one in case its that, but dont think so. The very East Europe gets an ECE2.

But the link ticks the boxes in name and version

http://vw-mapscdn.tdd.adacorcdn.com/DiscoverMedia2_EU1_1115_V10.7z

Needs someone to try it out.:).

They now have several card combinations for Amundsen MIB2. Since "missing" for the last update in each variant countries
If you e.g. To Germany still Denmark, Poland and Spain needs must Variant 1, 2 and 5 download
For starters, you are probably in good hands with package 5 if you do not need Denmark.

Variant 1 http://vw-mapscdn.tdd.adacorcdn.com/DiscoverMedia2_EU1_1115_V10.7z
Scope: Andorra, Belgium, Gibraltar, Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom

Variant 2 http://vw-mapscdn.tdd.adacorcdn.com/DiscoverMedia2_EU2_1115_V10.7z
Scope: Albania *, Bosnia and Herzegovina *, Bulgaria *, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Kazakhstan *, Kosovo *, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia (former Yugoslav Republic) *, Moldova *, Montenegro *, Norway, Romania *, Russia *, Sweden, Serbia *, Ukraine *, Belarus *, Cyprus *

Variant 3 http://vw-mapscdn.tdd.adacorcdn.com/DiscoverMedia2_EU3_1115_V10.7z
Scope: Germany, Italy, Croatia *, Liechtenstein, Malta *, Austria, Poland *, San Marino, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Vatican City

Variant 4 http://vw-mapscdn.tdd.adacorcdn.com/DiscoverMedia2_EU_DL1_1115.7z
Scope: Andorra, Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Croatia *, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta *, Monaco, Netherlands, Austria, Poland *, San Marino, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Vatican City

Variant 5 http://vw-mapscdn.tdd.adacorcdn.com/DiscoverMedia2_EU_DL2_1120_V10.7z
Scope: Andorra, Belgium, Germany, France, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Croatia, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta *, Monaco, Netherlands, Austria, Poland, San Marino, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Vatican City, United Kingdom

Variation 6 http://vw-mapscdn.tdd.adacorcdn.com/DiscoverMedia2_EU_DL3_1115_V10.7z
Scope: Andorra, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Iceland, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, United Kingdom

Variation 7 http://vw-mapscdn.tdd.adacorcdn.com/DiscoverMedia2_EU_DL4_1115_V10.7z
Scope: Albania *, Bosnia and Herzegovina *, Bulgaria *, Estonia, Greece, Italy, Kosovo *, Croatia *, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Malta *, Macedonia (former Yugoslav Republic) *, Moldova, Montenegro *, Austria, Poland *, Romania *, San Marino, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Serbia *, Ukraine *, Turkey *, Belarus *, Vatican City, Cyprus

So the choice is yours... they seem to have split out the countries. May be version 5 is better if you are driving from the UK into those countries.

So many choices :). Lay back and listen to reports of what works for them :). Each Seat country will supply a card that's best. One suspects that developments in the East what use to fit on the SD cards no longer does unless it's something to do with the license. Seems to be the west won't now fit on one card.

On the link there are reports that variant 4 had an issue unpacking. Seems to be a pick and mix. We must thank all are European friends :).

1115 works for me in the UK although it did put an odd .png file of the vehicle menu on the SD Card which I deleted

Subject to testing. If UK based but touring close European countries it would be version 5. But for just UK we know version 1 is fine from Bedlam.

If it's a UK sourced car it won't have Mapcare and it's not a retrofit of sorts you need the workaround featured on the thread. Important you back up the card just in case you do have issues.

Mac's can play havoc with hidden files although people on here generally don't have those issues perhaps since they are more tech savvy.

Suspect variant 2 may be the same for you - could try. But are those street names wrong in 1030 ?. May be automated translate ?. You can have multilanguage entries so perhaps some joker has the wrong names in.
Same ****, different bundle. In fact those maps are older - 10.01.2018 vs 04.03.2018 for 1030.

They are useless...

Cause on the MIB2 High you get all of Europe in one file :). Variant 5 would do me in my wanders from the UK if I was using the standard version. I haven't taken the car to Iceland yet...

7 Zip BTW is the VW recommended unzip program for those that may have issues. It's free although Windows does have a built way of unzipping these days. Variant 4 I didn't have an issue with.

Confirmed 1120 (yes, that one's a different release number) Variant/Bundle 5 loads a treat for me, and includes new roads in my area that only opened in March 2018 too! Haven't been out yet, so can't confirm if the speed limits have been fixed (1030 shows dual carriageways and motorways at 60mph...)

Where did you download 1120 from?
