Reading through some of this thread I’ve seen multiple people saying they want to “turn down the actuator” I’ve googled it but can’t find any info.

What does it do?

When you select cupra mode you get fake sound coming into the cabin through the speakers of the car. You can disable or turn it down with obd11,vcds,etc

What @Deano j1971 says, however I don't believe it comes through the sound system speakers, but a separate speaker hidden in the engine bay.

In short its crap.

As Damo H says it's a speaker mounted under the scuttle panel and it can be disconnected or the volume turned down with VCDS or OBDeleven, it's only fitted on Cupras.

Yeah there is a separate speaker somewhere, before I disabled mine I turned the infotainment system off and it still came from some where.

I thought the actuator used the windscreen as an amplifier for actual engine sound? So it’s not actually fake engine noise at all? I think it sounds great regardless!

That was my understanding as well, However this is one of those things that we English call a marmite item, (Marmite https://www.marmite.co.uk/ is a yeast spread) and the long and short of it is you either love it or hate it (no in between).

I hated it and turned it off asap and got a open cone induction system and that gives you a much much nicer sound.

Point well made but you do have Carista so you don't want two of these devices :)
