Out of interest, how much did the wheel nut covers cost and where did you get them from, Peller? Mine are in need of replacing as you'll see from posts above.

I got them from Fife Seat (they had to order them in)

Quite pricey at £27 for the set. I'm aware of cheaper ones on eBay and the likes but I wanted to get OEM ones.

I'm not going to fit them until I sort out the rusty hubs and I'll probably spray the old ones to keep them as spares.

Dealers can be tight, I still managed to get a wheel refurbed, service and fuel. Anything else was pushing it!

Just got this through the post. I am a little disappointed as it's just a couple of thin bits of plastic that you glue over the existing fob. I thought it would be more substantial considering it cost £25!!!

I also got some wheel nut covers as the existing ones are pretty scabby. I never had any issues with the covers on my previous FR. I assume it must be when folk use acid based wheel cleaner.

Word of advice, replace your key battery before fitting the key cover! I fitted mine and the key battery warning came on the dash a couple of months later. It's a pig to try and get it off once fitted!

Cheers!

I was thinking the very same thing! I'm going to put in a new high quality/long life battery before I fit the cover.

Thanks Bega.
It took a couple of hours for each side, quicker for the second one as I had an idea how to do it. £3 roll of 4D carbon wrap from eBay was more than enough to do it too so it's a cheap mod. Just be careful removing the panels if you do do it - I broke the small clips in the accompanying picture on the first side (2 were already broken on the second side as they're pretty small and weak) However the remaining clips are really strong and the panels are sitting tight in their slots after wrapping.

This looks amazing. How did you actually do it? Each individual cell or one piece then pushing into each cell. No issue with losing the carbon fibre pattern during the stretching? Could this perhaps be done by hydro dipping instead?

Completed a long journey for work in the Cupra (120ish miles) and I was amazed at the economy! Granted it was mainly light footed motorway and A roads with a lot of cruise control but I'm still impressed!

Got my car back from the detailers today, it's sucked not having it and relying on Uber's and trains.
It's had a new car detail finished off with Gtechnic Crystal Serum Light and Exo v3. He's also taken the wheels off and dressed the wheel arches and the wheels in the same ceramic coating. He was really impressed with the actual colour of the car, kept saying that it looked different in parts of his unit.

I'm super super happy with it but there are a lot of swirls in the paint, no doubt caused by other carwashes/dealers etc. I could have had the 2 car detail which probably would have given enough time to buff everything perfectly but I was on a budget and chose a better sealant instead.

gave it a wash and seal with the Carbon Collective goodies, can't recommend the hybrid coating high enough!

Found such a scratched rear bumper..

:censored::censored::censored:

Any idea if it is for complete repaint of whole bumper or do they know it nowadays just to repair it localy?
Lower part of scratches are possible just to polish, but the main big scratch on the upper part is just on the edge of the bumper and color is missing......

Thanks Fraser.

I wrapped the central area in horizontal strips and than did the outer edge as one piece. Used a 4D carbon wrap I got from a seller on Amazon for £3 a roll. It has kept its pattern nicely and has decent stretch if you're patient and take it steady. I wrapped the middle lower lip of the bumper with the same wrap about 2yrs ago and it's held up really well - better than the paint in fact which has multiple stone chips out of it, particularly the bonnet.

Waiting for my splitter to arrive now and then going to tackle the 2 centre grills when I remove the front bumper to fit it. Will post pics again then.

Can you polish a little bit on picture upper part can't see that paint is missing. Kinda hard to repair it localy cause it's on kinda bad place.

But looking better on picture I think polishing should be removed all.

Sorry this picture is much much better.I know its kinda bad,but maybe just polish what you can,and you can make small amount of your color, and use small brush and put on part where color is missing. It will cost you too much for repainting whole bumper.Or maybe check at some quality paint shop maybe they have better solution for small amount of costs.

Still thinking about using my insurance. Have zero shares, zero shared payment. So if it will be 100€ or 1000€ I dont have to care. But I think it will have an impact on my yearly insurance payment later (bonus will be decreased)......

Last week I visited service for yearly check and I am nearly sure they did it. As I am visiting the same service where I bought car, they know my insurance contract with zero payment, so I wont be surprised that they expect that I will repair it through it (they have been paying I will not find it during check-out).

Since service visit I was not parked on a place where it could happened...
