For 400 quid I am guessing that the whole bumper needed to be removed and something else was broken. you have really worried me now about the costs of simply hitting a bird on the road.

Bumper off but no parts other than an FR grille.

Decided to get rid of it

I am at my year itch and it's bit me again so it's going. Getting a cheaper car to use for a bit so cutting the monthly outlay.

So if anyone wants any wind deflectors and pedal cover set le me know as these have been taken off :)

I hit a pheasant in work Passat, it demolished the lower grill, the air con rad and broke the clips on the intercooler and radiator. All had to be replaced, iirc was around £2.5k . In my defence it was a very large pheasant ......

sure it wasn't a PEASANT?
Or a wild turkey?
very common in the Jewellery Quarter, I've been told.

Wasn't a peasant, have to chase them across fields. Was on the A713 in Scotlandia, so maybe it was a haggis....either way, it went to pieces....... :D

sure it wasn't a bustard?
sounds like one.
I quite often get mistaken for one, judging by the number of times I hear "You stupid old bustard....."
suppose it could have been a Stupid Scottish Bustard. (Bustard A. Salmondius)

If it wasn't bustard when it started, it was after.....and Salmond? It would have been a pleasure......

Wouldn't be a haggis down on the road as they stick to the hills and mountains. They have two short legs on the LH side and that enables them to run around the steep inclines on which they are usually found.

sometimes there's a genetic defect which means the legs on the OTHER side are also short, so the poor wee timorous beastie's feet can't touch the ground, and becomes easy prey for the rarely-spotted carnivorous parakeets that inhabit the Highlands.
Their cry of "Fook You, Jimmae, Fook You" however, is often heard by travellers north of the border.

Mountain haggis? Is that like the Welsh mountain sheep? ;)

you still have to pick a pretty one.....
did you know, during the last election the Welsh Labour candidate for a rural constituency, worried about the UKIP swing, went into a pub and shouted "Nigel Farage has a face like a sheeps a**e!"
Complete pandemonium ensued - chairs knocked over, glasses and bottles flew, and during the melee he crawled under a table to hide. Another drinker was hiding there, and the candidate turned to him and said "I didn't realise this was UKIP country!"
"It's not" said the other bloke. "It's sheep country"
