Did some VCDS tweaks today with the help of a forum member! (alarm chirp, auto-folding mirrors, rear lights as DRLS, ambient lighting always red).

Last week, had my Triple R splitter fitted (http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=423073 here's an image:

Treated the car to two layers of Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer and water now runs off it like a duck's back.

The red lights should be on all modes IMO. It just looks so much better when they're on as the white can be hard to see.

So got round to doing the swap over this morning.

First by removing the screw in the footrest first and removed the original. It just comes off by pushing upwards and pulling away.

Rubbers came off the brake and clutch easily, the accelerator pedal just stays as it is as its a complete plastic part.

Photo below shows the original footrest and the new one, the reproduction one is exactly the same with same fixing points and is really good quality, so fits perfectly as if it was oem.

So the brake and clutch went on as easy as they came off. The accelerator however was a pain, you have to get a flat screwdriver or a flat knife in the back to bring over the rubber, bit fiddly but once done it's pretty easy once you know how lol.

So before

Much better and how it should of looked from the start.

So in total the transformation came to £79 in total and I think it was well worth that :)

That looks sweet, stop doing these things.

I looked at a few alterations to the back and front and keep seeing pics like this is making me want to do it even more lol

I do think the back needs something to it, it's lacking something but that looks like its going to do that.

How much was the exhaust to do if you don't mind me asking :)

Thanks mate. When I heard the sound of it my face lit up like a kid at Christmas haha! The exhaust and fitting the diffuser came to £450. I highly recommend EMP Performance

That's pretty good then.

I looked at a Miltek system and that was nearly £600

Where are they based?

I looked too but I've got a mate with a mk2 and he paid £750 for his Miltek and it sounds standard. He hates it.

EMP is in St. Albans

Low coolant warning light is on, only done 1600 miles and the reservoir is way below minimum which seems strange. Rang the dealer and they've suggested bringing it in

mine's permanently in "sport", but I drive smoothly and average 52mpg around the lanes here. Long motorway runs I average maybe 57....how do people get 70??
