Did you separate the gator from the lower surround as I can't seem to get them apart without it looking like I am going to break the surround ?

I got the surround out with a bit of force. I watched a video for a mk4 golf and he just popped his off.. Its a bit tighter than that and my clips felt stubborn as all hell.

I lifted the front off by just lifting up fairly hard then moving it all forward and then flipping it inside out like a kid taking their top off inside out. The gator was stapled into the plastic, so I broke hem off and the new one actually was a better fit so there was no need for staples to hold it in place.

I got it to the point where the front clips had popped out and were sat top and it felt like i got it stuck but with a bit of a push and a screwdriver the surround popped off.

So, brute force is the order of the day ? I need to separate the two pieces because my gaitor surround is scratched and I was hoping to wrap it to get it looking a bit better

I accept no liability for my advice but yes brute force worked for me.

Took the green panel filer out and replaced it with a new OEM one
Cleaned the tb
Will be changing the battery later as it's taking an effort to start and the other day the dash lights stayed on, then the esc and abs light stayed on for a bit and central locking is playing up. Think it's the original battery tbh so it's done well

Can I ask why you took the green panel out to replace with standard one bud?

Well I received my new laptop with VCDS on it, just waiting on my OBD cable now, so Wednesday I'll be able to have a wee look into my car and see what's what woohoo

Added some LEDs to the underside of the door cards so I never step in sh*t again in dark places, not that I ever have, but this way I guarantee it... lol
