Full oil and filters service and replaced my N75 valve after I snapped one of the nipples off when trying to remove the rubber vac pipe to put a silicone hose on!

The new N75 had the bottom 2 outlets facing the other way to my original and I have more lag than I had with my old valve...

Done nothing since the weekend to my car itself and with the news that I have now heard that it looks like it will be getting a Q plate registration it has now made me not want to both with the car!

In all honesty, id look at it more like a repair type modification
Can they not some sort of VIC check like category c cars that allows it to keep its plate etc

They said it would come under being a "Radically Altered Vehicle" to which if you look on the GOV website here - https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-registration/radically-altered-vehicles

It states
  • Your vehicle must have 8 or more points from the table below if you want to keep the original registration number. 5 of these points must come from having the original or new and unmodified chassis, monocoque bodyshell or frame.

and...

You won’t be able to keep your vehicle’s original registration number if one of the following applies:
  • it has fewer than 8 points
  • it has a second-hand or altered chassis, monocoque bodyshell or frame
  • there’s evidence that 2 vehicles have been welded together to form one (ie ‘cut and shut’)

Interesting, there wont be many cars done by the book then
Where I did my apprenticeship made the vanquish and DB9 chassis for aston martin. The DB9 used to have a full front structure that was bonded to the main chassis so you cant take the slam panel off and walk in like the leon. However we used to have to do front structure repair kit for them for crash damaged cars. This would be considered altered as the design changed slightly later so it could be done easier.
However being as the leon main shell is virtually identical to the s3, you could argue its OE parts same as the 4wd leon and therefore not an altered chassis as it exists in that format

I think repairs are different but I may be wrong.

Of course l think that will be the case, people just won't declare the modification which is fine but what happens if you have a knock or get pulled over in the road for a VOSA inspection etc.

It is after all a transmission and axle change I guess? Who knows, soon find out!

Just annoying that I'm now that close to finishing and have everything refurbished ready to bolt onto the vehicle

I think it would be viewed as more of a rear axle swap than total transmission
Depends on how you interpret these rules, if for example you imported a cupra 4 from abroad so its all legal, get rear ended and creases the floorpan, you decide to repair it by cutting in a new panel (albeit 2nd hand) which is the same bits as youre adding to leon now. That is viewed as acceptable so as long as the quality of the welding is good and OE panels used I think they would be more understanding on yours.
If adding a cage etc too you could say you've braced it even more
