Had to resort to borrowing my brothers 1.1 Punto yesterday! Well its made me realise even more how much i love my baby and need it back! There is no way i could ever buy a car with so little power.. felt like it'd be faster me walking up hills.. Awful machine!

Know the feeling. My leons parked up poorly and I'm using the wifes 1.0 vw polo.

My dad had a 1.2 sporting that was quite quick for what it was had just started driving though so that might have been why it felt quick lol. I can't have slow cars either it's nice knowing you got power there when you need it.

Fab thank you :) I'm gonna take my emissions problem to him then! I'm presuming once the garage are finished with it this time it'll still have it lol I wrote them down strict instructions of what i wanted them to look at, i think they thought it was slightly odd me telling them what to do :-D

My ex made me buy this Calibra redtop once.. My god it was fast but i couldn't wait to get rid of the death trap! Then there was the mk 4 gti, i do like a nice Golf but i gotta say, it wasn't as quick as the Leon..

Can't decide if i want another Leon, Golf or Audi next.. I'm finding this quite a difficult decision tbh

Turbo is done in so i'm not bothering! Gonna upgrade! Test drove a Mk 6 golf today! Gotta say the VW garage nearly got me with it but luckily i had my mum with me who stuck her foot down and told me i would want rid of it in a couple of months because its too bog standard lol she knows me too well!!

Audi i think i'll be lucky to find an A3 in the price bracket that i want with lowish mileage.

Golf or Leon it is :)

I've got a guy interested in buying the Leon, what would you all sell it for? have no idea what it is worth needing a new turbo x

Id pick a Leon over a Golf so much nicer to drive. How much you gonna have to spend?

oh and i forgot to mention! the garage can't find anything wrong with the oil filter/pump/pipes.

Any chance you think this engine rattle was just the turbo?

It's possible if it had destroyed itself big time. Would love to actually see the state of it.

I think if you saw the state of my car full stop you'd be like Wtf! haha i've got the job of picking it up tomorrow and cleaning it inside and out! Not looking forward to this in the slightest

I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't this turbo that has been causing me problems all along and i've been blaming it on the emissions  lol

Yeah he wants it.. I always see him selling cars on groups on facebook so i'm persuming he'll be fixing it up himself!

If he finds a few more surprises it'll be out of my hands cause like you say, I'll have my shiny new toy to play with lol

Ah he obviously buys and sells then. Sold as seen on the receipt and that's it. Lol Thats still making me laugh

I'm hoping to spend around £6/7000 at max really

If you have that much to spend, I would get a nice clean reasonable mileage 225bhp Cupra-R for around 4k then you have a bit of money to then spend on it, and make it your own.
New shiny toys that put a smile on your face are always good lol (sorry had to carry that one on lol I couldn't resist)

As much as the mk2 is a nice car, it's not my cup of tea, I much prefer my LCR although I must admit i like 3dr mk5 gti's

The mk2s have grown on me and I like the mk2 Cupras but defo prefer the mk1. I like the mk5 GTIs my mates got an edition 30 with 300bhp thats nice.
