Water still getting into the rear footwell

Have you resealed your doors for the common door seal fault? Because that's what mine was doing.

Hey man, when you say resealing the door as a common fault, do you mean replacing the rubber door seal? Cheers

Nar not rubber seal mate. Take off door card and loosen the metal cover underneath the foam seal runs roundthe edge and it falls aapart and that's how the water gets in. Need to remove and replace with butyl sealant. That will sort it. Easy job to do just take your time.

Na man, already done that on all four doors! The leak isn't from there, it's leaking from the rubber seal which goes round the full opening of the door on the car, not on the door. The water is somehow not draining out of the seal although all the drain holes are clear. Somehow it's getting in below the seal, over the spot welded seam and pooling on the inner sill before running down into the footwell

Ah I see door seal shouldn't be too expensive mate.

£38.50, worth it if it cures the leak! However I'm not convinced cos the seal that's on the door looks fine, drain holes are clear etc! Anyway, not too much to shell out - worth a bash ;)

So yesterday I stuck the door seals down onto the spot welded seam on the sill and that's cured the water coming in there :) However, all thats happening now is the water is collecting along the dip between the door and the seal, eventually filling so much that it's spilling into the car rather than draining out the bottom of the door? This hasn't anything to do with the drain holes as such because the water is running down the (closed) door seal and collecting along the bottom (which is above the drain holes which are tucked under the seal). I have pictures but not allowed to attach yet. What a pest!

I have the same problems but with a new baby girl and new house trying to find time to fix it isnt happening at the moment. Ive gone to putting a towel on the floor and putting a heavy object to suck up the water. Works a treat lol until I can get around to fixing it

Big Lach - Have you checked and double checked you've properly sealed the carrier plate under the door card? The symptoms you're describing sound remarkably like leaky carrier plate seals.

Same way that the scuttle panel can soak the rear drivers side one.

I've checked / double checked both doors / checked them again with a bucket of water being trickled down the outside of the window and found nothing whatsoever being trickled in from the doors

Yet I've got this

Yep same as mine. I hope I don't have to pull the interior out. Ain't nobody got time for that.

I'm sure it has to be the pollen filter. Both my front doors need redoing and I need to change the lock unit on passenger side again.

massive pain in my bum

Hey Mikey, yep carrier seals are now bone dry, interior has been out for a fortnight but it's via the biotin f the passenger door seal that the water is getting in - still haven't managed to diagnose how it's getting in via the seal! Frustrating.com!

Remove your C pillar trims and see if the water is coming down from there. I'll post a pic in a sec. I had a similair issue and kept chasing it and it was literally running all the way down into the rear footwell.
Remove the trims near the seat belt and see if on the curve if thats wet also :)

This was my issue. I got someone to hold my boot upright whilst I removed the hinges and sealed behind them, seems to be much better BUT not 100% yet.

Nightmare Chris! My rear footwell are bone dry now. My issue is definitely the front passenger door seal, holding the hose over it, after a short time the water builds up at the bottom of the seal along the sill, spills over onto the inner sill and then into the front footwell. I'm gonna get a new seal and see if that cures it....if not I'll perhaps try a gallon of fuel and a box of matches!! ;)

As you can see, the water is somehow getting inside between the door and the seal and gathering along the bottom and then, when the dip fills it's spilling over into the footwell!

Have you snipped triangles out of the door deal to let the water drain out? When your door closes the seal shuts over the drain holes so they can't drain the water. If you locate the holes and snip the seal below it it should give it enough space to drain away.
