Where did you fit your gauges? Pillar pod? I am looking for alternatives... any ideas?

Yes mate pillar pod. The pod was fitted by a previous owner who never finished the job so i just got a cheap gauge and fitting kit from deamon tweaks and got my mate whos a mechanic to run the vaccum hose for me in exchange for a few beers.

Tbf tho even if the pod wasnt already fitted i probs would have still gone with the pillar. Those pods that sit on the dash dont look right to me even tho they are quite popular atm

I dont like stand alone gauges on the dash either.. i was thinking about something like the old subaru impreza dashboard mount or maybe a two-gauge pod right and left on the steering column..

One option that i found in an other forum in here was in the central air vents. It looks awesome but i am worried of not having central air vents since it can get pretty hot here especially in summer (45-47 degress Celcius)..

Just one question mate. Does the pillar pod obstructs your view plane? Do you have any issues especially when coming out of an intercection etc??

Well I am open for any ideas as food for thought..

No obstructions what so ever mate, but im 6ft 6 so head comes higher than the gauge and its about half way up the pillar lol but it doesnt stick out to far and is quite subtle.

Wouldnt reccomend the air vents based on those heats lol thats asking for trouble if you ask me haha

As for the steering column, im not sure, cant really pass comment as ive never had it or seen it. Would depend on how much they stick out i suppose and would they interfere with your steering, as in get in the way.

Personal experience would say go with the pillar gauges, never had any problems at all but it all comes down to personal preference. Might be worth asking people who have had different positioned gauges and see what they think?

Hope that helps anyway bud :)

You too mate :)

Will look forward too seeing what you eventually go with.

Where did you get your gauge from if you dont mind me asking? Mine was just a reasonably cheap one but want one that lights up red so it matches the rest of my dials but cant find any anywhere which suprises me considering the amount of LCRs that have them fitted

I got a vaccum gauge and a narrowband air fuel ratio gauge both from GlowShift Gauges.. I went for the 7 colour smoked 52mm gauges.. next month i will most probably get a wideband air fuel ratio kit from them as well.. a bit expensive but seems promising..

Do a Google search for them.. the gauges seem nice and have multiple colour options including red to match our dashboard!

Removed the pvc and fitted a catch can. Can't believe how much gunk and **** was in the pipes!

How long did that take to do? Was it on a lcr? Did you find a guide anywhere to show how to do it? My PVC system is playing up causing running faults when cold so removing the PVC system would solve it but I'm not sure how to do it?
