K04 MK3 Ibiza Cupra Track Ready - RIP

Bit of progress today

Replacing the B16 with some FK AKs for abit so I can get mine rebuilt

They look good quality and can go loads lower than the bilstiens if wanted anyway

I replaced the rear springs with my eibach 500lb (iirc) springs

Fronts I swopped the helper spring for the Bilstein ones as the FK one I could squash together really easy which I can't do with the Blue spring :)

Looks like your coming on. Whats the plans for it the now, is the engine build being done now?

Yeah engine build is going ahead mate just slow. I wanna sort the steering /suspension fully before it goes in but the engine build is slow as the bits are so expensive.

I've got a 2.0 TSFI crank AGU head AGN cams and AQX 06A block but need the rods and pistons and oil squirts and block bored next :D but its mega money haha as you probs know lol

Well in that case, im gonna follow your engine build very closely, just had a word with misses and she has agreedi can get a spare engine to build. Did you buy the crank new mate? Noticed a couple people have gone for it. Ill hopefully do the same aswell as fully forging

That's good to here my misses weren't so keen but as I help berg break his in the rain and cold of like November she felt abit sorry and soon agreed lol

Chambers have you compared the crank that you have to the crank in the ayp?

Not yet its in my list to do shortly as with th cams aswell

How come? Think there 92.8mm iirc

I took it out my mates S3 CDLA lump as he had a rear ender. 50 quid bargain only cover 8K :) now lives in a 2Litre cardboard box haha

Haha glad to hear she gave in. I just havent told my misses anything about costs. Ive told her i already have a spare head and will pick up an engine for £50 haha.
You got any estimations on when it will be built? Decided on a turbo?

Haha same mucka same lol

Erm be nice to drop it in next summer when it's nice and warm, long days with plenty of light during the week when everyone else is at work and its all peaceful lol
Turbo I'm 90% sure it will be a VAG hybrid tubby although DaNnY_LaD did offer me his BT setup which I did think about but again I'm not 110% on it so can't commit to it.

How's yours coming on anyway mucka?

Reason I ask is due to wether you think it's a forged crank or not? When I pulled a crank out of an agu bam and ayp they all seem the same lol

Don't go bt I think you'll regret it these cars are to light they don't need it mate. You've seen some of the cars I've broke there all 300 bhp plus and there plenty. When that dude came to mine in his 350 bhp beast we had play and upto 90 I left him then he came back at 90 but ran out of road turned off that road pulled away from him again pure spin had a diff fitted aswell. Honestly waste of money rather through it at an evo6 that can put the power down lol. Yours will deal with most cars on the road today 300s enough.

Yeah defo agree. 300bhp K0x hybrid against so a 350bhp a BT, I'm sure the BT will be left behind lagging about and then come on and the road run out like you say.

Yeah the vag turbos seem to be most reliable aswell, most bt setups have huge lists of problems every 2 weeks or so. Either way you decide im sure it will be great judging by your work so far.

Erm mines coming on ok, still coming along problems that need sorted, such as eml light pops up now and again for sai- incorrect flow, even though sai bypass is done. Still getting smoke from where oil leaked onto my turbo housing so looks like ill replace fittings and / or gasket

Is the mini heater to get rid of cars heater matrix and save weight?

Pardon my ignorance but is BT a turbo type like gt28 or t3/4 etc?

Would an AWT engine have a large port head?

My subframe on the cordoba could do with a bit of that treatment.

My granddad had a mk3 capri which he traded in for a 01/or 02 Nissan Micra
