Nick,

The SEATS shouldnt be using a lot at all. 50w is proper big. The heat shinks are on the device already. Our supplier says that no additional heat shink should be required. Although i guess it would be down to personal choice.

hi im about to order the premium kit. just to confirm does this include all interior, number plate and front side lights?

my car is a seat leon mk2 2006 tdi, will it through any codes, and will i need to add 50w resistors for festoon?

thanks

Yes the resistor has a slight heatsink around the edge, but to obtain the full 50W then it needs fitting to a heatsink.

I'm not sure what current is going through these, but if there getting that warm then it shows the should ideally have a heatsink.

8 Ohms at 13.8V will draw around 1.7 amps which will equate to about 23W of power.

I agree the resistors would benefit from being attached to some metal work for some additional heat sinking possibly the bumper beam?

Well done to Dave and Partsulike for coming up with a workable solution.

just fitted the premium upgrade kit. All lights working fine with no problems. one of the best little upgrades you can do the car, especially if you have bi-xenons.

My car is a 58 plate cupra k1, so no problems here

Thanks

Thats what I mean if they are using 23w the resistors are only specd for 20w if not fitted to a heatsink.

I'm not trying to go against the guy selling them just trying to help people burn anything with the resistors geting so hot.

ordered these and got them today, when i got to the rear passenger lights the fuse had blown. where is the fuse location, ive read up and people say its at the end of the dash on driver side, but can that panel really come off? seems pretty solid :S

Yes, the fuse for the interior light circuit is on the internal fuse box which is located on the drivers side. You'll probably need a flat head screwdriver to prise the cover off.

Under the headlight switch is the OBD port and thats it, so what you say is right. But there is definitely a fuse box at the end next to the drivers side, and it definitely contains the interior light circuit fuse :)

Hmmm...... I'm beginning to think they aren't to going to turn up.

Going to have to not be lazy and buy all the bulbs myself rather than the kit
