Nice choice on the matte look..looks really good, but its gonna be a bit of a pain keeping it like that for a long time. Just worried about the stone chips or whatever it takes to ruin the matte look to happen...fingers crossed for you it doesnt happen lol

cheers mate! :D

don't say that! i thought matte would make it easier to upkeep! gave the car a thorough clean today anyway, wheels didn't seem bad at all...mind you they've only been on the car for a day lol...

seem a bit easier anyway, no mother faffing about with layers and layers of wheel sealant. haha fingers crossed i'll not get any for a while.

will do mate, maybe tomorrow as the lights failing right now up here in the highlands...

as requested...some photos of my boc with his new alloys.

gave him a good clean today, including 3 layers of collinite applied over 3 hours. still not polished it yet as its just too cold.

great shot of tardis doing its work:

Think the alloys look fine. Quite dark looking. I always liked the standard anthracite on the pre-2010 models. If my alloys ever end up in a bad way, I will have them refurbed in anthracite. Your car looks well, but it is crying out for side skirts / spoiler...get it done ;)

thanks for the comments!

i preferred the colour too, but wanted something slightly different. I'm very happy with them anyway. They look a bit dark in those pictures but are actually a good bit lighter when you see them in the flesh!

agree about the skirts and spoiler though, that's next on the list after i've paid off my insurance next month. really need the skirts as theres damage to one of the sills where the previous owner has had it jacked up. not hugely noticeable but it catches my eye all the time.

i'm quite tempted by a set of lowering springs first though

Yeah, lowering springs are good idea as well. They are not expensive...£130 will get you some H&Rs. Spoiler and skirts work out dear enough though, including spraying and fitting. You prob wouldn't have much change from £500 or so! (think that's what it cost me).

christ that's a lot of money for some plastic! I've built myself up a small spray booth in my garage so i'd be tempted to have a go at spraying them myself. then again i wouldn't really trust myself after mucking up that alloy.

been looking at springs all of tonight!

Get the springs. They are cheap upgrade and make a big difference. You won't regret them. Sometimes you just need to take the plunge ... I have no regrets about the H&Rs ... They transform the look of the car and it sits the way it should have from factory imo. Ride quality is good. Little harsh at rear, but is acceptable. Just fitted an arb tonight and the car feels so much better again.

You could start with the spoiler...think it costs about £100 or so, then whatever extra for spraying and fitting. You'll want it done right, so would prob be best to get it done by good body shop!

haven't updated this in a while due to being busy with work and having to pay off my car insurance this month.

as i'm sure some of you will know, I had the centre silencer removed from the car at the end of february. caused a bit of controversy on here lol, with a few people saying they hated the sound. anyway, i'm more than happy with how its turned out and for £70 i would recommend it to anyone. car sounds a lot more alive, nice little burble on idle and a few pops on overrun as well as the odd dsg fart when changing gear :) sounds like the car should've from the factory imo.

other than the exhaust i haven't done a great deal with it since due to being stuck offshore. there was some damage to the passenger door sill that I have had repaired (this was on the car before i got it) used a local guy who charged £110 for it and it is absolutely flawless! unfortunately i don't have any pictures of the damage to give a before/after shot.

in the near future i'm planning on either getting the sc spoiler, or wrapping my roof in gloss black...just can't seem to make a decision.

again, as some of you may know i have been in touch with blueflame exhausts, who would like to use my car as the prototype for a new system that will then be available off the shelf for the mk5 cupra. this will be priced A LOT cheaper than the Milltek. I hope to have this done in early may! :D

anyway...here are some videos of my car with the deleted resonator...been meaning to upload them for ages:

one of my favourite pictures of the car:

Took advantage of euro car parts 25% and bought some H&R springs the other day, got them all fitted today...make such a difference to the car...absolutely loving them and to be honest I haven't noticed any difference in the ride quality.

pics:

car's also booked in on monday to have a catback exhaust built up...been feeling very flush recently haha. going for twin tailpipes and 2.5 inch diameter. can't wait!

catback on as of monday 29/04/13. It's a 2.5" system and sounds amazing! absolutely in love with it, can't stop driving underneath bridges/through tunnels with it. farts so much now and gets a few pops on overrun/downshift...would highly recommend a custom job!

didn't get any tailpipes in the end, just went for the subtle look:

have a ibiza white cupra tsi mate ill flash next time haha. Aw cool ive used them before on my last car, they do a good job. Do they still offer lifetime warranty with the custom exhausts? And how much did the charge for the cat back if you dint mind me asking?
