I believe if you have paid for it then the old one is still valid for 5 working days after its expiry date, I looked into it when I was a bit late in renewing mine. If the old one is well out of date though then yes I imagine a jobsworth cop could well fine you for not displaying.

(Yesterday)
Washed, clayed and waxed it. Came up not too badly, far better than being salt encrusted anyway, some pretty outrageous swirl marks though. Going to get a machine polisher and get on it in a month or two after we start getting some consistently less **** weather. Rubbed out the majority of the scuff the Mrs gave the back bumper a couple of weeks ago [:@]. Gave the lights a damn good rub with T-cut and they are now looking pretty good, think I will have to give the headlights a little rub with wet and dry though to bring them up properly.

Then took it to get the wheel alignment sorted, it had previously been set up to account for the **** tyres I had on but the steering wheel had been a bit squint since it got new boots. Now driving straight as an arrow and the wheels dead centre :).

Was going to put on my 225 steering wheel but gave up lol, how do you take the steering wheel off? I was prodding about in the back of it but got that "I'm definitely going to break something" feeling so gave up lol.

Went for a drive heard something fall from the front then steering went really bad. pulled over had a look nothing was hanging down so drove home about 2 miles if that. Then noticed my rear tyre was flat so put the spare on for now :(. Moved the car to my parking space and it was banging from the front so got under and had a look. The bolt for my anti roll bar had fallen out and popped my rear tyre. Tried to fit a new bolt but there was no bite at all. So new wishbone had to be fitted total cost 23 quid for a new one and of course need a new tyre as well :(. The bloody nut in the box secton broke its weld so had to cut open the bottom to reweld nut in place and then weld the box secton up. Not a good cupra day

Noticed the rear washer jet isn't as powerful, checked the boot aaaaaand...... surprise surprise, trim on the left is wet. Will rip the back apart tonight when I get in, slowly working my way round the car at the moment trying to find and fix the various little water leaks. This'll no doubt be the infamous washer pipe come apart...

Currently driving with only the two front seats in, and no carpets or underlay.

Why?

Because sieve-car.

And after:

Had to fix my starter motor cable as my car wouldn't start yesterday, got an original connector to replace my bodged spade connector and now have a good strong start!

Also got a scratch polished out today:

Sunday refitted the fabia rear wiper and motor as it didn't have one. Looks good and all sorted but need a grommit/bung for the rear window before it rains.
