Dan see them in person, they look chunky as fuk!!! Plus his front hadn't settled fully yet when the pics were taken. I sat in the passenger side which seemed to help :p

Very nice.

Was down at Wheel power getting some new boots yesterday said you'd been in to get your new wheels on.

I got the tpi spacers on mine, and got them from Mark. Very good piece of kit IMO.

The wheels look awesome. Really suite the car well

I need to have a play around with the heights and the spacers but I cant take the front down anymore than it is I'll never get it over the humps in my road :D

It dropped a good 25mm when you got in it :D

What time did you get up there ? I left about 12ish.

I really like them mate! Suits the car and the look your going for really well.

Thanks Derek :D

I'm going to get another set of 12mm's for the rears, I like the textured edge on them, makes them nice and easy to get on and off.

Those look great Daz, very nice indeed.

I do reckon you could lose half an inch of ride height and still negotiate those speed bumps though :p

update your polo thread if there is any updates ;)

haha nothing much to report mate, I've been playing with other cars tbh. That's what happens when your daily driver is a 16 year old Alfa! Besides I don't think people want to read about old Polos on here it doesn't seem to get much interest!

What's next for the old girl then Daz? Carbon diffuser?

Some chrome LED washer jets?

edit: I'll just leave this here:

I dont really want to lower the front anymore, it hadles really nicly at the moment and I dont have to worry too much about catching the sump.

I really need to get my act together and sort out a set of Carbon Mirror cover

Well the car decided to thank me for it's new wheels yesterday by blowing a coil pack  Luckily I was almost home so went round to Euro Car Parts and picked up a set of Beru coil packs for £101, they've got 20% off at the moment which helped.
Whilst I had it all apart I removed the redundant N249 parts

And tucked the bypass pipe from the manifold to the DV under the manifold

Well she wasn't content with just a set of coil packs, On the way home from Bluewater today she decided to have another fit, Just starting to build boost in 3rd gear on a dual carriageway, wasn't booting and all of a sudden the lurched forward, EPC light came on and all the power died, the engine was still running but wouldn't rev and had no power at all :wtf: I managed to coast it to a layby and stopped, it still wouldn't rev so switched it off, gave it a minute then restarted and it was all back to normal, drove off nice and easy and all ok so gave it a bit of boost and it was still ok, gave it a check over when we got home but couldn't find anything obvious, we used it again this afternoon and again it was fine.
El's going to scan it for me at the weekend so hopefully we'll be able to find the problem then,

I'm gonna take a stab in the dark and say brake light switch. Saw a similar thing on a TT the other week, switch as a bossy fit and thinks the brakes are pressed, although I'm probably wrong lol. Hope you get it sorted mate

I know many have said this already, but the wheels do look great. Although I think your car suits the LCR wheels just as well. Both you and El have done well with your selections! With regards to the rear spacers, it's a tough one isn't it? I've had 15mm previously and at standard ride height with three mates in the back, it rubbed the outer arches. Thankfully it didn't mark the paint; it's a thought that still makes me shudder... I run 10mm at the rear, which looks spot on, and I know that if it were to rub, it's not going to ruin the paint on the arches.

I hope the car runs better soon. I ran the Buru plugs before doing the 2.0TFSI conversion recently. Good plugs for the money :)

The new wheels are half an inch wider than the stock wheels which is the main reason I'm going to replace the 16mm's on the rear, I've already rubbed through the rear arch liners with the stock wheels and 16mm's :D
I do still really like the stock LCR wheel's but so many others have gone for the same color scheme as mine that I needed to change something.
The plan is to get some winter tyres so the old rims will still be getting some use :D

El popped round today with his laptop to scan the car to see what happend when it cut out the other day,
The first thing we found was it was cylinder 3 coil pack that failed, I marked them all before removing them so I know know I have 3 spares :)
Next we found a code relating to the N249 which had been bypassed  After having a closer look we found that the plug wasn't plugged into the unit properly  this was soon sorted. there were a couple of other codes one because of the decat and I cant remember what the other one was remember, these were cleared and we took it for a run, all was Ok and the car even felt quicker, when we got back we scanned it again and the ECU was clear so hopefully it's all sorted, just need to order the decat spacer next.

Couple of shots I took whilst palying around with El's car :)

Lucky for El he turned up just as I had got all my detailing gear out, I had intended on just giving his a quick wash but on closer inspection I decided it needed a little bit more.
I wont go into too much detail here but it basically had a mini detail, Snow Foamed, washed, clayed, washed again, D.A'd using Autoglym SRP and then sealed with Werstat JETT seleant.
It came out very well but it really does need a lot more work.
End results

Should definitely do those mirrors carbon you need it :)

Glad it was just the N249 connector plug causing the issue.

We think that's all it was, going to scan it again next week to see if anything comes back.
I'm on the case of the mirrors [B)]
