After fitting what you've bought what's the next plans?

Saving some money and enjoying the mods for a bit. Spent serious £ recently and should really stop just can't resisit sometimes. Just going to concentrate on styling bits, need to order a new front plate, polish up the new seats, seal the new wheels, order some new 'R' badges and thats about it, oh and enjoy driving it :)

Got a few more hours on the car today. Managed to get the final touches of the battery reloco into place. Went and bought some of the bolts that Tim suggested that cut as you screw them in. Seem to have done the job well.

What type/are the bolts you mentioned called? and where can you buy them?

Well mixed thoughts on today as a whole really. Day started out really well...

Got all the wheels treated with wheel sealant and started to put them on the car only to find out that one of them has the tyre on round the wrong way i.e the inside tyre wall is on the outside of the wheel! BOOO!!
Anyway I proceeded with fitting them to the car... (i apologise now for the crap iPhone pics.)

Was pleased with how they look at this point despite the tyre being on the wrong way so proceeded with cleaning up the r32 leathers.

This is how they started, not in a bad condition but where in need of clean and protect to get the moisture back into the leather.

Gave them a good clean with a leather cleaner, diluted 1:1 (can be used neat but didn't want it to be too harsh on the leather)

Then started to apply leather sealant, takes about 48 hours to cure to the leather and it will be getting a few coats over the next few weeks but can tell the difference.

All in all I was pleased up until this point so I started tackling the earth for the battery reloco. No probes here, found a good earthing point in the spare wheel well and earthed it up.

I proceeded to change the engine oil in the car as it hasn't really been used for about 6 months and was in need of a change before I start using it again.

Pleased with my work thought it would be a good idea to fire it up and get it outside so I've got plenty of space to fit the new seats. Fired up first time although it was spitting and spluttering... 20 seconds later (ish) it stalled. Now I can't get it to start at all.

There seems to be an underlying problem in the car somewhere as this happened a few weeks ago and turned out to be an electrical problem with the battery (or so i thought) as when it was jump started with another car it fired first time but no such luck this time, so I set about investigating... So far I have tried.

1. New earth point for battery
2. Checked all electrical connections
3. Checked earth on rocker cover
4. Jump start with another battery

I can't understand why it keeps spluttering on cold, it was originally thought it was down to the wrong heat range plugs but so far I have tried BKR8EIX & BKR7EIX and it does the same thing. I am reluctant to try heat range 6 plugs as running 'standard' heat range plugs on my car which is far from standard is asking for trouble?

Been trying to think what could cause this... The car is getting fuel, and is getting enough energy to turn the car over just doesn't appear to be sparking, could the gap size of the plugs cause this?

I left the car not able to start in a bit of a strop and came on here to post this in hope someone might be able to shed some light on it...

???

You'll sort it mate I'm sure. Defo worth checking the gapping of the plugs mate.

The wheels look really good on the car :) Shame about the tyre being on the wrong way. You going to get that sorted out soonish?

The R32 leathers were a great buy mate. I LOVE mine!!! :D They look like they were meant to be in the car from factory. They're also very sexy too ;) Lol.

Cheers for the link. Hopefully get it sorted soon. Spoke to Bill earlier and he recommended checking all the coil wiring with a voltmeter, and check the plugs are at .7mm. Got the day off on Friday so will get it done then if I don't get it done before...

Will be taking my laptop over to my dads tomorrow to plug in my VCDS and see what it says (if anything)
