true matee.. the scuff is pretty deep.. would have to be sanded down.. your right..just im not not good at the body work side of things.. il have to have alook as i think it is pretty far down to the engine side. funny thing was when it went thought its MOT the emission test read really low which i was surprised about as it was a old car and probs has the same cat from new :L

Haha, you must have a kick ass engine to be not putting out CO2 like that :) Defo want to keep the exhaust as mint as poss then :) I'll see if I can have a look tomorrow, see if there's any room past the block for the cat. Might help us all out a bit :)

Mate, if you'd be up for letting me near your car, I'd happily repair the bumper for you. I'm good with bodywork (ignore the rub strip atm, that was my first ever attempt. I've done a lot since then :p). Wouldn't mind a weekend or so in Devon for a hol too :)

Haha, the centre box does do quite a bit of silencing methinks... Apparently I could take mine out and my car would be even louder! :D

Didn't get any pics, but did do another fix/mod/DIY jobby. Looking through my previous posted pics, you see I've have LEDs in my sideys for ages. My 'latest' ones kinda bit the dust, but having pulled some LED assemblies apart, I thought I'd give an idea a go... So, pics for themselves:

Old LEDs (this one was okay, but the other one had blown itself to bits)

With a bit of fettling ;)

Fitted: N/S for old, O/S for DIY

And Sideys on their own (when ignitions off)

And when driving (so tempted to drive around like this at night to scare people ;) )

Pardon the pics. It was very dark and rainy by the time I'd finished :(

Really want some kind of 'guard' type strip to put on the front of the bumper, and something to cover the gaping hole where the splitter is.... Suggestions highly valued!

im thinking some sort of honey comb grills in the gap of the splitter like the polo 6n2's ..

thats problem whey mine is pretty loud i have no mid silencer plus my car pops too ill get a video of it at some point i love it driving round then release the throttle fast and have a nice little poping sound.. zust is completely standard as far as i know

aye, i get popping too, but with the centre box still in.... again, complete stock exhaust apart from the backbox which was to replace mine which rusted itself off! need to take the centre section out anyway, got to cut the end down a bit for the mk4 backbox. AT SOME POINT. its there and fine, therefore it can stay there for now.

hmm, honeycomb grill would look good... just a case of how to get it there. i meant when you look through that (and by extension, any grill you fit) you can see the floor. i was seriously considering spraying a bit of board black and screwing it there just so it looked....important. the side ones i can deal with, cos i want to make up a panzer plate type thing, again, for show, but it makes the car look a bit more 'full'.
