All ready to go on the new FR

Getting frustrated trying to take the engine cover off the R!!!! Currently sat inside whilst the engine warms up (and rain passes) and then i'm hoping it will come off.

And there was me praising VAG cars for how easy things are to fix and change....

The problem is on some cars like my old FR, the engine cover just wont stay on! in the end you end up taking them off forever

The R one is quite easy once you have mastered it

Be firm and start at either front corner unpop both fronts first.
You'll get used to it if your refitting it put some Vaseline in the rubbers to help for next time.

Also once you've got it off some of the rubber grommet thingies might be left stuck to the engine mounts rather than the engine cover. It's much easier to put back on if you put all 4 rubber grommets into the engine cover first.

Sorted!!! Worked out that seeing as the grommets are made of rubber they might be easier to persuade out if i warm them up - turned engine over for 10-15minutes whilst it p!ssed down with rain and then went back to it, a minute later the thing was off

So new K&N panel filter fitted - tomorrow the Sportlines go on......

Passed its MOT today, just needed the headlights alligning as they were pointing down too much (consequence of lowering?)

I unplugged the battery for a few hours to fix my gps problem, but now my traction control light, power stearing light and tyre pressure lights are on, any ideas how to get them off?

Go for a drive around the block, they will go off after a few seconds

p-Flo will be better than k&n

Better in what way? The sound is really a bit too much for me with the pflo, especially with other people in the car. Ideally I want the sound halfway between stock and p-flo!

im no expert on petrols but I am sure there is a kit that some say is too quiet so that might be perfect for you, id just stay away from k&n oiled cones if you can help it

The PFlow uses a k and N filter.
The best thing to do is get the overhaul kit about £10
Wash the filter dry it thoroughly and oil it your self , use just enough and you will be fine

Or just order a dry media filter from Neuspeed... Replaces the oil one like for like. Replace like normal air filter at service time. No more MAF worries

Today I Fitted :-
My private plates.
Pipercross panel filter. (not as easy as a Clio 197 ffs!)
A bit of carbon wrap under the front plate.
Put a new FR badge on the front.
Fitted my new black K1 grill.

Starting to take shape now
