Stereo fitted but original ariel was buggered so has it replaced with a new fin style unit. Looks much better if I do say so myself and now finally I have a fully functioning radio.

Not done any work on my car today but I changed the control temperature sensor on my Leon for the second time on Thurs night as ever since having the water pump done a month ago (first replaced the original CTS around 6 weeks ago), the second one decided to stop working again. I emailed the ebay shop I got it from and no questions asked they sent me another one free of charge :) (came with 24 month warranty anyway)

Despite making a mess with removing the old sensor and coolant p*ssing out everywhere, half an hour later I have a working temperature gauge again :)

Car work scheduled for next week - new aftermarket shocks & KW springs to be fitted :D

  1. Replaced the MAF (£80 exchange Bosch unit at Euro Cap Parts) - instant improvement in responsiveness, smoother idle and as yet there has been none of the hesitance that I keep getting and bleating on about on here.
  2. Replaced a fog light bulb.
  3. Cured a rattle from the steering cowling that has been driving me mad. The centre plastic insert under the clocks locates into a metal sprung clip attached to the underside of the clocks which had opened out and wasn't gripping that bit of plastic. Closed it up with some pliers, refitted the plastic and its been silent since!
  4. Renewed insurance - swiftcover @ £262 with no extra's and 8000 miles limit (only 2 years NCD on this one). That's all 3 cars + home insurance in last 5 weeks with the M3 tax (£465) due at end Sept! Funds=zero!!

MOT due soon so I need a couple of front tyres. I am half expecting a failure on brakes being out of balance (left to right - although you can't feel it in the car at all but last year it was mentioned by the tester) and potentially N/S/F bush. Halfords are doing a £25 MOT offer that will cover the first test and I shall have the tracking and brake fluid done in the same visit. If it fails, Kwik-Fit are doing something similar too with cheap MOT's!
