Went to a local meet on Wednesday with the Team GTR guys. Was the first SEC Customs meet at the Dutch House Pub on the A20. We brought our wide arch S15, my Leon Cupra R and a Carbon Twin turbo RX7. Few snaps taken:

Team GTR, ey...you must know Clarkey then, blue R32 drift skyline with white wheels, goes around with an S13 in the same colour blue but with yellow wheels?

Met them both that day. My mates know them both. The S13 was there. Got a proper nice fitment with the Rotas

Brands Hatch Open Pit Session - 30/08/2012

Now for one of my favourite updates…………..I have finally broken my track virginity  For my birthday my awesome friend got me an open pit session track day at Brands Hatch organised by EasyTrack on the 30th August 2012. At first I thought it was going to be a disaster with the weather but luckily it stayed dry when on track as it was an evening event.

Was a sell-out event with a great variety of cars; Mazda mx5, BMW M3, tracked prepped Peugeot 106 and Mini Coopers, Porsche Gt2 and Gt3, Boxsters, Caterhams, Lotus Elise, Subaru Impreza’s plus many more. Now I know why everyone who gets the cars on track goes on about it for ages. Epic experience and these sheds proper do well on track. On the straight a lot of the cars there were getting killed and even on the fast sweeping bends I was able to swing it round quick enough to stay with the big boys. I did however find the front did not want to turn as quickly on the tight bend so had to wait longer in order to get the power down. I believe this is down to the worn bushes up front so looking to getting those sorted before I get on track again. Of course a LSD would have come into play at that point but am still resisting the impulse buy on getting one. Have really caught the bug now, want to go again and luckily for me my birthday present from work is another track day which I need to book up!!!! Oh and the funniest thing was that I finished a full tank of petrol on this event lol

It was a 2 hour open pit session so I did 20 minutes at first taking it easy and getting a hang of how the car behaves and learning the track properly. I came in just to check everything and found all was in perfect order so headed back out and did another 20 minutes pushing it a bit more. I came in again and took a short break. I then headed back out but was only on for about 10mins as some twat staked it. After coming in and lining up again I went out for another 5mins as some other twat stacked it. Final outting I proper went for it on the straights and bends giving it all to the point I was starting to break traction so was aiming for the sweet spot of where I can push it enough without just spinning up everywhere. All I can say is WHAT A BUZZ!!!!

There are over 300 pictures taken of the car from my friend and also a further 50 taken by the track side photography (which I still need to purchase). Here are a couple of my fav pics:

Cheers buddy :) Throughly recommend booking some track time. One of the best things iv done. Can't believe it's taken me this long to get on seen as I have had the car for several years tuning it.

Looks like you had fun mate :D
How did you fair against the other cars ?

Proper good fun mate, you know first hand how much of a buzz it is. Car did very very well against the cars there. On the straights it took many by surprise and on the fast bends it really took them well. The only cars which really took me were the proper tuned Lotus's, Catherams, one of the Nissan GTR and the Porsche Gt2 and Gt3. However even against these cars I was making them work for the place. I managed to get behind one of the lotus guys and watched the lines they were taking and from that I was able to find even more traction but then after 2 laps he really started pushing and crawled away. Next time I need get the car to turn in quicker on the tight bends as that's where I was really losing out on these other cars. Need to sort the front bushes out as I have been told they are wearing out and this would have helped massively as I would have been able to keep it tighter up front instead of it trying to drift outwards and cause under steer

As well as rebushing the front end add some negative camber to the front, this will help with cornering and turn in
I run 1.5 degrees of negative per wheel and do sacrifice about 1000 miles of a set of tyres but it sticks like faecal matter to a blanket

hi mate what front strut base do you have?

It's a Raceland strut brace. Not sure if they are still making them though

Great suggestion. Recently I have been thinking about camber adjustments. Would you only recommend doing this on the fronts?
