I hope it goes back together without any issues James. Hindsight is a wonderful thing... apparently... It sounds like the car is running well though, which is good to hear.

James, When you say the selector fork has come out in what sense? from memory its nigh on impossible to have the fork come out with the shift tower?? got any pics? Subframe doesnt have to come down for the box to come out either.

Undo your rear mount and remove the drivers side driveshaft cup(6mm allen key inside) and lower the box to below the chassis rail and it tiwsts out towards the front of the car. I can do them in 3.5 hours drive in drive out.

It's not the actual fork that's come out its the long rod with the linkage on top. Will get some photos later.

That'll go back in without taking the box out mate. it can be a bit fiddly, main thing is patience :) Keep fiddling and it'll come eventually ;) you have to remove the silver 16mm nut on the side of the box by the shift tower, lift up the cap that you bolt to the box, and try and line it up before pushing it in the box, so you know your roughly in the right lines. You cant push anyting out of alignment doing it so dont worry, at most you'll select a gear, but you can sort that with a screwdriver. there is a hole the selector srops into, This is the hardest part alone, you can spend 20 mins trying to get it to drop in. be gentle with it as tiny movements up the top are massive down there.

yeh it goes in at a strange angle, it does take some doing, it can be made harder if the cap wont stay out the way. Keep at it though mate, it'll go.
