Since I got to change my rubber, I decided to treat the alloys with Gtechniq C5

Blimey Dave... Big boy pants on or what :D Really enjoyed watching the two videos, especially the second one. Looks like a lot of fun.

Hope the car is holding up well? Did you feel the benefits of the brake upgrade? It seemed to go light under hard breaking, but I suppose that's inevitable is it, with it having a lighter rear end? Still, it seems so well rounded on the track. You must be chuffed? I would be.

James :)

Thanks James,

The car was locking up at the rear before but I am going from 110/120mph down to 30mph with very hard braking. Going to start looking into removing the ABS (doesn't work anyway) & fitting a brake bias, the first video isn't at my fast pace but because the files are sooo big it takes hours to upload.

Second video I get to give it full beans :)

I'm pleased with how the car performs, always love it when I turn up at a track day & no one blinks an eye lid at the car then I head out on track & get questions thrown at me on my return lol

Next track day is with Club GTi's sprint Eventb@ Curby on 9th September

Hopefully :D

Is this still going ahead? I was told it was going to be cancelled due to lack of interest.

Shame, it used to be a really fun event.

Im not sure, had a quick look the other night and it seems people are still paying to go

Lol not much use for them then, but I've been busting to use the tyre rack.

But had to put the Ibiza further back on the trailer so don't too happy with how the Passat is sitting... Will see how it goes tomorrow.

Making me want a T5 even more :)

See you tomorrow fella! Be nice to finally see your car

Nice car Dave - very clean - and looked to be going ok to me. Good to finally meet.
Curby is a funny old place - very simple when you look at it but quite hard to get right - and of course absolutely no margin for error like on a longer circuit, loose a bit of time and your toast whereas on a longer lap there is always the possibility of making it up again. I haven't been there for quite a while and found it quite difficult after doing long circuits all year. Its all about practice really...
Cheers
Rob

Know what you mean, looks like a simple circuit but defiantly one of the most technical I've been on funny enough. Probably because like you said its a small circuit & it's the first time I ever been timed, been watching the videos and think I could have used 2nd instead of 3rd gear... Will see next time lol.

Was great to see yours in action, I thought mine was quick but yours is something else!
