If it rains at Brands Hatch there will be plenty of mini rivers at the bottom of Paddock Hill bend :D

Least we have fair grip in the wet with Toyo's... Not sure the same can be said for DK's Parada's

Didn't mean in regards to working performance, I meant in terms of if you had to sell the car in pieces. Parts that are covered will look in better condition than summat that's open to the elements. Both work well in the above places, but mine will be covered up.

Nah I will just get D.K to polish it up if I was to sell it on at a later stage. He would make it look better than new so I am not worried!

For all the parts it's about £130 I think. Then just fitting which I am attempting myself with from the TeamGTR lads :D

Yeah can't wait for the track day. Hoping its the first of several. Time to have some proper fun in the LCR as I have totally lost interest lately :ban:

Thing is with mounting it in the lower front grill, the cooler will fall victim to the bad weather (if that bothers you, it would me)...

Above the FMIC there will be a certain amount of protection plus the cooler will still be getting some cold air on it due to the small air scoop thingy under the S badge.

Just my 2p worth.

Not quite sure what you're getting at here
Coolers are made of aluminium so dont rust just have a thin oxide skin form on them and as for it getting wet it will only make it more efficient and cool faster
Any large particles will be deflected by the grill well before it hits the cooler

Yes I know they are, but have you seen how stained the intercooler gets from all the road salt etc? You obviously have no choice with where the intercooler goes, but I want the oil cooler covered to prolong longevity, as it has a more important job to do.

I guarantee that a mocal cooler will outlive your car, how much more longevity do you need?
It is only partially used as the oil only circulates when the thermo plate opens as for the 'staining' its only an oxide skin which will happen wherever you put it

Fair enough, cheers for the advice. I will have a look at the space I have, when I come to fit it. :)
Was just concerned it may of got damaged in that position.

Admittedly on most peoples including yours running wellycoolers, room will be tight in the SMIC area so on top of FMIC is probably better
This is why i went for a compact core with short end tanks but still able to high flow and power

Off topic but Ronin your signature pic is making me jealous. I need a rolling shot like that :)

Hahaha Darren I think we are all going to be drift cars at Brands with the current weather

It was on the wet road to inters but rolling shots are the future
Also i wouldnt worry too much about a bit of rain on the track, it slows everyone down a bit but unless you're really pushing it or have gash tyres you should stay on

I agree mate, no point going on track thinking your a superstar otherwise things will get nasty. We are all sensible but like to have a laugh saying we doomed. Mind you last time me and DK were convoying we tried to have a bit of a drag race in the wet. Top gear said that drag race in the vans was slow but this was worse lol

Well all parts have now arrived for my oil cooler install which I will be tackling this weekend. Big thanks to all the companies I used, great service from all who managed to get the parts out to me very quickly indeed.

Quick check to ensure all the parts are correct and that I have everything. Last thing you want is to strip things down and find out something was sent out wrong

So glad my work place doesn't mind me receiving these deliveries :)
