But not as much I suppose as I have the oil temp gauge. Wise move mate, good list of parts also. Interested to see how you get on.

Sure you guys will be fine mate, just keep your eye on those gauges. This is just me being extra cautious plus I am hoping this is one of several I will do this year :)

Good idea mate, this is something I want to do to mine. Are you fitting the cooler yourself? if so full guide please mate :D

After reading about how high temps get and the affects of the oil getting so hot I decided to get one on. Also been getting constantly nagged by my mates about getting the oil cooler on before any track day so thought sod it lets get it done. Hoping to do the work myself with help so will see how I get on. Will get photos and a mini guide up for sure.

Seat I think. Got them from Philc. Messaged Sere for them to see if they have them and can get them to me by end of next week

All parts now ordered for my oil cooler install. David and SERE mentioned that one of the part numbers were wrong. The gasket number is 06A rather than 08A

Going to start the install this weekend. I have a feeling my sandwich plate won't get here in time but if I get the major bits done first like sorting the best location for the cooler etc I will be happy

Nice one mate. You going to mount the cooler where one of the old smic's used to sit?

That is one of the options, the other is up front just above the FMIC. Under the S badge there is a open section so it would sit there. Once the front bumper is off I will see what is the best route to take really

Yeah good shout mate. Was looking at that on a car yesterday, think it was a turbocharged CTR where the Mocal oil cooler was just above the FMIC. Quite a good spot and fairly accessible.

It is a decent spot up front but I can't help think that by putting it where the old SMIC was it will get better air flow to it

If you are going to mount it where the SMIC used to be you'll need to bring it forward so it sits just behind the grill IMO, personally I'd stick it above the FMIC.

Cheers for the opionins gents. Most likely will sit just above the fmic but will still look at both options nonetheless once the bumper is off :)

I'm planning on running an oil cooler vertically in place of the passanger side SMIC
However im doing my FMIC piping in a different route to allow a good amount of room for it

Thats the option I was thinking also. The way my piping for the intercooler is at the moment I have plenty of room to mount it the oil cooler close to where the fog light use to be. Just need to make a custom bracket

Just make sure its a rigid bracket, ive been told to mount the cooler so its absoluetly solid and hence me running it vertically

Above the FMIC there will be a certain amount of protection plus the cooler will still be getting some cold air on it due to the small air scoop thingy under the S badge.

Just my 2p worth.

Bad weather? I have had a massive front mount intercooler sitting bang up front and that has had no issues. Weather won't affect coolers, unless of course you drive into the river which I don't plan on doing.............hopefully ;)

Keen to see this go on your car dude.

Will have to come have a nosey once all done ;)

Parts have started to arrive now. Although I think I might not have ordered enough hose now :blink: It is always difficult to really tell until you get working on the car and put it all in place. Did the same when I was doing the FMIC but when it all went on I had more than enough to do the piping properly
