Cleaned the car and went for a spin. Ended up following a Jag XKR and EVO VIII that were having a play with each other. Jag was pretty quick but the EVO went off like a rocket when he decided to overtake. Busy traffic stopped their fun though.

funnily enough I saw a Jag XK R and and Aston Martin having a similar play on the M40 today I considered joining in for all of about 3 seconds :p

Get in sport mode on that DSG and show them what you've got! ;)

Doubt DSG Sport mode could keep up with the supercharged 400bhp Jag! Lol. Dunno what the Evo had under the bonnet but it left the Jag standing. Once they got to traffic the Jag did an arse-puckering overtake just to get ahead.

Hose pipe ban was lifted few days ago so was finally able to give my FR a proper clean. First time since I bought it. My black alloys are pain in... to clean because you can see every spot on them.

Also, when finished mine, my gf and sister wanted to have their cars cleaned (megane and jetta) so took me a while to do all of them but overall good day to clean. Tomorrow probably gonna rain and will be all filthy again.

Finally think my MPG problems could be over!

IMG_0199.jpg

That was with a full tank for fuel, full, very heavy boot, and at 70mph on the motorway. It was 180 mile round trip up to the lakes, about 70% motorway with cruise control. I filled the car up just before I went, and you can see how little the needle has moved.

I think with at 60mph, I could get 75mpg out of this engine on a full boot and full tank of fuel. With an empty car, I reckon nearly 80mph is achievable.

REALLY starting to love this car!

Oh, and before anyone tries to shoot my down for using my trip computer, over a full tank it UNDER reads by 2 mpg :p

Filled her up with standard Tesco diesel and a squirt of Millers to wash it down

My last tank saw 40 to a gallon (Fuelly) and 44.1 to a gallon on the MFD. Not my best, but then again...it was fun!

I recieved my dyno graph from Will @ P-Torque yesterday and these are the figures, is it not low at stock at the wheels or are these figures roughly what they should be?

Stock: 110.2bhp Motor, 88.8bhp Wheel, 201.2lb/ft Torque
After: 151.1bhp Motor, 133.7bhp Wheel, 268.3lb/ft Torque

at 7000 miles your engine will still be a tight as a nuns chuff. my 1.9 tdi took about 15000 to fully loosen up and run sweet.

I got the DPF light on this evening - also co-incidentally, just LAST weekend the car was remapped !
More soot / emissions being generated, clogging the DPF quicker !?

I have used the car infrequently this week however. Took a diversion via the motorway for 30 minutes, the regen happened (thankfully), light went off - all fine. ;)

Ordered a set of 345mm new front discs today... The brand is TRW, was not sure at first but my mate said they are good quality so i'm gonna give it a go. Got them for 150 GBP a set :D Pretty cheap imo.

Then ordered new DS2500 pads all round... some improvement I guess! Anyone from this forum use them?

Had the fuel filter changed. Considering it's been run on premium diesel with Millers lobbed in the old filter looked pretty shitty after 18K miles.
