My best mate Josh had his HGV licence 28 days after turning 18, the youngest ever in the UK to drive a truck. His dad has his own haulage company. I go out with him evey weekend and I tell you know I don't have a clue how he does it. You have to be highly skilled to maneuver through the tiny villages!

I dont think HGV licences at 18 is the problem, it's the idiots who drive saxos/corsa's getting a licence at 17!

I'm 18 and theres no way i would feel confident enough to drive a HGV at the minute, they're huge!
So much more to think about with slowing down for corners, bigger stopping distances, other vehicles constantly over taking etc, no way!

I have drove them on his yard when positioning them for trailors etc, it certainly isn't easy, not to mention the 16 gears

I can imagine they're quite fun to drive! :drive1:
I wouldn't mind having a dabble at driving a HET or a 15T MAN Support vehicle either ;)
