why drop the CR down? nice hike in Cr on these with some cams, suitable mapping, fuel will make for a torquey motor..

+1 would of taught rule of higher compression bigger bang = more power unless you running a super/turbocharger and with those rods i'm pretty sure your engine could take it quite easily , i would guesstimate , 2056cc displacement with 12.5:1 compression ratio should see 220+bhp

It was seeing about that before, its on ITB's too (with Cams, forgot the duration)

Turbo!!??? No thanks! If I wanted a turbo I would have fitted a 20vT lump a long time ago.

I think he chose to do this because I still have hydraulic lifters, did go about pricing up with solid lifters but the bill is just too much. Really need to draw the line somewhere and this is it lol.

Here's the update.... bit slow on this, I've had the car back and done a track day at Combe.

Firstly the car made 217 BHP & 157 lbs ft with a lovely power curve;

This graph shows the run before my bottom end work (pulled 199 on the run so was one of the first runs when I had the throttle bodies fitted) and now with the bottom end done. As you can see it's more bhp & torque at every rev and the power curve is more linear.

I had the car back on 17th March (Saturday) in time for the track day I booked at Castle Combe on the Monday 19th lol.

This time I managed to pass the sound test dead on 100dB's this was after I fitted the decibel devil that I had to "modify" to fit lol.

Being honest the power figures were lower than I expected sure I haven't got bragging rights in pub chat but when you put the car into action it's 100 times better than before, it is a weapon now! Sooo easy to drive the power is always there and going around Combe I'm using only 4th & 5th gear.... could easily drive around in 5th! Whereas before I was dropping down to 3rd at times.

Not a lot was getting away from me and I mean at this track day it was more like a test day with race teams in every direction I could look. Managed to get away from a new M3 with a race driver at the wheel, a Mini Cup Car didn't stay with me and Lotus Exige's were pulling over for me lol.

Even managed to chase down and sat on the bumper of this DB9 Production Race Car for 4 laps which I pressured into making mistakes at a few corners which then I did overtake.... but to my bad luck my incar footage didn't work, memory card was full..... doh! :(

Like to say a massive thank you to Saxon Motorsport for building the engine for me, top work and the car goes like stink! Defiantly know what they are doing!

I was working the bottom end to it's limit, so want reliability. Plus it still nail a lot of turbo cars! Even thnk a certain 400bhp mk3 wouldn't keep up haha

But we never know now :p

There is something about that colour, i love it, not normally a fan of the green cars but yeah loving this!!
