Aaaawwww you had to ask didn't you, is this just you seeing how long you'll hold Number 1 for ????

Depressing but here goes -

Have Car Resprayed,
Refit window & door seals etc & Make water tight again after paint,
Get Car up on axle stands and remove diff / Rear arms (shot blast / paint rebush)
Fit S3 Quattro Fuel Tank,
Work out fuel supply / pumps / Surge Tank (still to buy thinking 2x044's or something like that) The fit / wire and repipe up to fuel rail in AN6.
Remove Front subframe complete and refit TT Quattro front end with quicker steering rack / wishbones / hubs etc painted and poly's.
Fit my S3 FK Silverline Coilovers,
Repipe Rear Brake pipes & Reroute Hand brake cables,
Mount Propshaft & weld in bearing carriers to chassis,
Finish off welding Manifold up,
Make down pipe to clear prop,
Design & Build 3" exhaust or try and buy S3 one and modify,
Source and Fit Bigger Brakes to front and new quattro ventilated rears,
Make supporting brace for turbo,
Decide on running Forge FMIC or binning in favour of a ProAlloy or a AWIC charge cooler,
Sort out 4" Airfilter and work out location,
Design and build Charge pipework,
Buy 75 or 80mm TB,
Rewire Wiring loom to move coilpack wiring to other route so away from manifold,
Remove all n249 etc and other wiring from loom,
Rework Cooland lines away from turbo / down pipe.
Mount Battery in boot,
Buy and Mount some racing chairs :D
Buy some Wheels !!!

So after thinking about that lot I'm sure i've forgotten loads and it may be next summer :cry::cry::cry:

Glad to hear injuries wernt too bad buddy! Was wondering where you had got to!

Nice long list for you, chin up though, I'm sure once it's painted it'l spur you on :)

Yeh it's quite a list, i've been feeling a bit down hearted towards it lately and like you say once i see her shiney new paint that'll be a big boost to get done.

Just can't wait for that first turn of the key :D

Green cotton air filter for 4" I'd say, although custom made most likely and takes months so get her ordered up well before you want it :) Think I waited 3 months for mine.

Quite a list but I'm sure it will soon be reduced.

Best of luck.

What make is that Joe ? thanks for the tip tho i will try and get the wheels in motion for that.

What throttle body is going on this? If you need an SEM manifold , ill have them in stock tomorrow.

I was thinking of getting a 75 or 80mm one, what'd you think ??? As for the SEM i have ordered one from Clay @ CTS as i ordered some IECVA1 camshafts / 1000cc ID Injectors / Maestro 7 at the same time and he knocked quite a bit off......but been waiting for about 5 weeks now.
I have been in contact with him quite a bit and he has copied me in the mails between him and SEM and they are having difficulties at there machining plant so eta is still looking bleak.
I would cancel it but i don't wan't to mess Clay about too much, he's been really good to me with pricing & shipping so i will hold off for a couple of weeks longer then i may be in contact with you.

I'm going to need to order a Throttle Body & adaptor plate soon & some of the TFSI coil packs etc so i will be in touch soon :D

A lot of work to do.
Hopefully everything goes smoothly

Cheers bud, i hope so too... :D

i pm'd you mate

Cheers Mate, i have replied... i'm not really in a massive rush so i will keep it for you now probs ;)

Yeh Dan well spotted, the guy was breaking a yellow LCR.... and that explains why the cooler has several different colours of paint on it.
Any news from that guy selling the supercopa rear wing ???

You got any contact details mate ? I did join ED38 but never really used it much...
Where is the guy that sells them based... i drive up and down the country most weeks (free fuel ;)) so picking one up wouldn't be much of a worry for me.

Hello there!
I'll be the odd one out here, seeing this thread for the first time (a few hours earlier) tonight! I've read most of it, atleast your updates! Didn't really like the way you made everything too exciting though, with you trying to set fire to your garage! I pictured you stumbling around, panicing, and I never thought that you'd have to go through all of that to finally put it out! I'm glad that it didn't get worse!
(made me remembring myself, setting fire to my old quattro, lol.)

As everyone else here I'm really liking your build! I guess that'll make me your newest fan! :)
Can't even start to imagine just the hours of researching you had to do, deciding what to go for etc., then theres all of the hands on work on top of it. I kinda hope you stopped counting months ago :p

Power distribution

I see you are mentioning other figures than 50/50. I might make a fool of myself here, as I have way too little knowledge on the subject, but wouldn't sending more than 50% to the back be impossible with your current gearbox/engine mount?
Also, when first deciding to do a 4wd conversion, did you ever consider going thorsen rather than haldex?

I saw you considering this Haldexcontroll system V2 a few pages back. Do you really need that? One would think that with the way this car turns out to be, you'd really have use for two settings?! One were the haldex is normal (or even pure FWD), for normal driving/transport, and one there is AWD for, you know, when the real driving takes place?

Opening at certaing pressures and closing at certain times just sounds unnecessary to me. But then again, there's the lack of knowledge :( Another point is that that controller costs almost £700. I can't help but thinking that there's gotta be a cheaper and easier way to do it..

Those were my first thoughts. Keep up the good work! Looking forward to seeing the car closer to completion! Oh, and, SUBSCRIBED!

Could always opt for a filter like mine graham but with a 100mm neck instead of 80mm and they are mahoosive

I have seen your and yes it's mahhhoooosive, not really sure i've got enough room for a bad boy like yours.

Thanks for the comments & kind words :).
I know the drivetrain can only make maximum 50/50 split, i wasn't sure at first but after some research it was clear.
I didn't even think about the torsen system as the haldex is what's used in the Leon 4's / R32's S3's etc.

I have changed my mind about the Haldex controller too, like you mentioned the need to run the drive train with a varied amount is not required. I just need FWD for cruising / braking and 4WD for having fun :D

There is a SQS manual adjustable haldex controller that you can fit to lock the diff all the time. There is a version of this available that has a handbrake cut off switch that opens the diff.

I could use this one as a on off switch.

Small update -

So i've had an awesome day today and finally managed to source a Seat Sport Supercopa rear spoiler....

I'm thinking it's gonna complete the look nicely.

Here's some pics of the kit.

The bracket, it fits to the boot and comes though the rear window -

IMG_0075.jpg

Here is the spoiler for the top of the window, i wanted this bit as i imagined the normal cupra / cupra r spoiler would deflect some of the air above the high level spoiler.
On the underside it looks like carbon and it weighs nothing :D
So the new roof spoiler sits pretty much flat and just covers the bit between the window and the roof -

IMG_0076.jpg

Here's the actual spoiler, it's really really light i'm sure its carbon -

There's a bit of tape on the end of the wing still but other than that it's in great condition.

I also got a genuine perspex rear screen with the holes for the brackets.
Bit hard to photo graph with it being see thru :D -

IMG_0080.jpg

IMG_0081.jpg

The only thing is the lad couldn't find the brackets to connect the wing to the main bracket.

I took some photo's of one of his cup cars so i can make some -

Really happy poking around a couple of supercopa's today... there truly awesome pieces of kit.

So long for now :)
