cheers dave measurements were ok i had to cut 1 bolt off that holds the heater matrix to the bulkhead off as it was stopping me from rotating the turbo all done now just needs a few bits to finish it off now ill be ringing you in the week to get this downpipe on as i want that done before i get it painted and i can fire it up once thats done.

got another few pics of it with the newer wheels on lowered it alot more on the coilovers so i can get a better idea where my flared front wings will be with the low offset grids :)

going to order some braided goodridge hoses for my engine bay from pirtek (they sponsor the vauxhall vectra in btcc and most people dont know they do make goodridge hoses to order and its handy for me as they are around the corner from my mum's) the copper lines i fitted look s**t the copper bends too easily and looks out of place with all the work i have put in it needs to be nice.

off down to the car now to get a list of stuff i need to order from tps as i want to get this car out in time for ultimate dubs so i have alot of work to do in 9 weeks haha

cheers dave for the pics downpipe is a nice bit of kit and im well happy with it first thought that a 3" pipe wont fit with the space that was there but they done an awesome job even adding a v-band to the downpipe for ease of removal which im happy with the rate i break my car ill need it haha.
tried to start it over the weekend but would only turn over and not fire not checked anything on it as it was getting dark need to get myself a walbro inline fuel pump diagram and ill get that in also need to check there is spark the 2 things needed to make it run, does every earth need to be connected in the bay? or would it be ok to put a few earths on 1 bolt?

ye that time was with the gt30 on but on a low boost gt28rs map on it after a few logged runs we calculated it to roughly 300-310 hp so not bad cant wait to let this gt30 loose with some more boost :)

No doubt more boost will really liven a turbo up like that, doubt the turbo was even awake when low boost.

Fab work looks good, when's it getting mapped propely? What psi you planning on running? :)

well happy with the work mate may pop down soon for an external gate v-band port welded in with a screamer pipe saves messing about with the actuator bracket,

no productive work to the car this week we had snow so couldn't work on the car due to it being at the top of a big hill in a garage and cant get my van up there and today was as bad as i had no parts from samco and mates letting you down on borrowed parts from the cupra so couldn't get the front end back on.

on a good note i sold my 3rd car that i was abusing over the past weekends i bought an e36 325i in october to learn to drift in but with an open diff was no good and without spending money on it welding the diff and coilovers etc it wasn't worth it with the cupra needing to be finished off i decided to sell it and it went to a mate earlier today for what i paid for it so now i will be burning all of that money plus more on the cupra so i can get it up and ready for this years shows.

so thinking of some new coilovers but dont want to go over my 600 budget i want something track worthy any suggestions? seen some kw v2's for sale second hand for a bit more than my budget but would i see much benefit from these as to a set of fk konigsports or weitecs?

still undecided on coilovers yet have been offered another set of v2's but wont be available for a month or 2 so im really undecided i cant fit my wheels or my stud/nut conversion until i get some good coilovers help? haha

not really much to update project wise i bought a rollcage that originally came from 10 miles away from me got passed through a few hands and eventually bought it before i missed it again so ill get that fitted asap and then remove it to paint the inside up matt black and the cage will go some crazy colour possibly the same as my harnesses and strut braces,

got my distribution block to put the battery in the back how i left it so long is beyond me but this car came off the road for a cracked manifold and has been off the road 18 months so its expected of me :banned:

only a few more bits to sort out now is:

-2 or 3mm steel so i can make some box section for the cage then sort that out and paint inside car
-snap off steering wheel boss as the car is 2 miles away from where i live so i dont fancy leaving it easilly driveable when its back running
-gasket for turbo-downpipe
-good coilovers
-road tyres for the rotas have some budgets i chucked on to test the stretch and wheel clearance (have the compomotive mo's that ill use for track/strip so no 'you will die' comments please lol)
-new boost gauge as i dropped mine and smashed it!!!
then itll be painted and mot'd asap hoping to get to some car shows in it this year its really depressing going to shows in my trusty astra van although it looks good it just dont cut it going uphill haha

Another update finally got everything on the car yesterday hoping it would fire up tried it a few times it would turn over but not fire then realised that I hadnt connected the online fuel pump up connected that up and assumed it would of fired nope same symptoms, checked for fuel and spark both there so I put vag com on hoping it would tell me something and 5 faults but all aredue to stuff not being plugged in which was the same before it came off the road,

They were
N249 open circuit
N75 open circuit
Secondary air pump open circuit
Evap open circuit
Lamba b1 s2
The Lamba one I forgot to connect the plug for bank 2 this is not even in the exhaust it was mapped out but still needs to be connected I think, all other have been erased and come back straight away but surelly these won't effect how it starts surelly?

The Evap and n249 were connected last time but not doing anything as all the pipes were removed as others have done

Any suggestions what else I can try i have to get this car going now ready for this years shows

What have you done Gaz from taking it off the road to putting it back on?

Have you double checked all OEM timing marks on cambelt?

Injectors plugged in. Inline pump should prime before firing, does it do this and does it have a check valve (valve which stops the OEM pump from pushing fuel through it if it's off) ?

i have checked myself now and there is no spark i was cranking it over the other day and my mate said he seen it spark but obviously it never!! i checked it over and thought id clean up the earth on the rocker maybe its this but wasn't and everything engine wise is connected as it was before, the reason i took it off the road was due to manifold studs sheering off and since it came off the road i have painted the block i never split it to do this but i was thinking maybe it could be the crank sensor or 1 of the other sensors that has paint on it and not receiving a full signal to spark?

I disconnected the injectors for the first few cranks but it could be flooded I'll have to get all plugs out to check, wot box is not installed either the wires are there just been cut short so I don't get the wires mixed up.

Could the paint on the crank sensor where I painted the block be an issue? Im pretty sure all contacts like crank sensor were cleaned back
