Flat grey home made mix it will be painted again I haven't long been getting my hands on the paint gun in work so I'm still learning, it'll be getting painted a similar grey off a land rover just wanted to cover the red in there it was quite overpowering in there it's hard work painting insides of cars haha I'll have another go at it after I flat it down a bit

cheers for the kind comments makes it all worthwhile

so after i painted the inside it did'nt quite look right it was dry in some places and i never liked the colour it was too light so i went out and got some paint that i found on the colour charts in work and came across a nice land rover colour i thought would suit it better so here goes more pics :)

much happier with the colour now its so much darker and i think it suits it much better, this week will be spent getting it all filled up with fluid and painting the cage as i ran out of the land rover paint so need to order some more and get that done this week and fit it over the weekend :)

if the outside looks anything as good as the inside will ill be a happy chappy haha

painted this myself and over the moon with it to be honest for my 3rd go at painting in work its the same colour as the bay so it ties it in a bit, also fitted my stud conversion for the wheels and fitted the wheels with new rubber had a little issue with the coils that happens to be the only bits that stop me with carrying on with the project as i need the coils to get the car low so i can sort the front arches and get it back to work for paint typical of my luck haha

so i fitted the cage on saturday me and my clumsy mate (he breaks everything he touches lol) and got it fitted took about 2 1/2 hours not bad really thought we would have killed the paintwork on the cage but everything went well and we only scratched the paint where i had to fit the sleeves and slide them over the pipes that connect the front section to the rear here's the pics :)

and some of the car fitted my wheels and also fitted my stud and nut conversion i have had laying around for a while just waiting on coilovers now so i can get it back to work and sort the front arches out then for paint hopefully ill get it to gti international on june 23/24 so 7 weeks to do this so ill probably end up buying some kw's soon as i dont want to leave them until the last minute it still needs to be driven as i dont want to take it to inters without putting a few test miles on it first, i also whacked my compomotive centre caps on and it looks like they will be staying on

cheers for the comments guys the brown thing is paper blowing in the wind lol it was used to wrap the cage from scratches for me to take it from work to my garage to fit it,

next up is getting the intercooler and intake pipe welded so i can get the dump valve and n75 valve on and let it run under its own power also need to source a battery box out unsure weather to mount it behind the passenger seat or in spare wheel well

its for a mark 2 the same shell as a mark 3 anyway,

got it running again over the weekend filled with water and it leaked out haha the 'o' ring on the temp sender was foobard and was leaking water out so have to order one of those also the exhaust is blowing from somewhere up near the manifold cant really put my finger on where too but once i have filled it with water/coolant i can let it run for a while and try and find it, have had a few issues with the cage fouling the seats but have sourced new side mounts but means the seats will sit a little higher than id like but im nearly on the floor anyway so it could have done with being lifted

i have given myself 6 weeks to get the car done for gti international ill be cutting it fine to get it there but hopefully i can get it there if not it'll be damn close but not going to go flat out on it as when i start rushing things go wrong.

right some more updates to this fitted the gearbox i had off phil w and also got it running again and replaced the cowling that was warped where the temp sender goes in had it running again for about 20 mins then knocked it off i also got to drive it although it was 5 foot and in reverse i still drove it lol

so todays task is to get all the brakes and clutch bled so i can drive it around the block and then hopefully off to my good ol exhaust buddy dave to get an extension welded to the actuator arm and a bracket made and i will have some boost :)
